'Sparkles' question

Can I put sparkles on a cake without icing it?Will it stick on?
If you're icing the cake,do you mix the sparkles with the icing and then spread it on,or sprinkle sparkles after spreading icing?

do you mean sprinkles? like you use for fairy bread?

If so then no, they wont really stick without icing.

I ice the cake then as soon as i'm done putting the icing on I quickly put the sprinkles on :)

it tastes better with icing anyhow.. lol..

but, you can put sprinkles in a cake mixtures and the results from that always go down a treat.... you can ice it then sprinkle them on top before the icing "sets" or you can slowly sprinkle them on top of the cake as soon as it gets out of the oven and lightly press on them and they will stay there that way too...
