I would be phoning the hospital, or even going in.

Chrissy, any sign of blood is troublesome, can you get up to an emergency department or at least make a phone call:no:

Hi,

I would suggest going up to Emergancy Department, they will check you over and if you havnt been able to keep anything down for a few days? They will probably put you on a drip and keep you in over night or longer depending on your blood tests and how much ketones are in your urine. If they are not helpful your GP might be.

pirodoxine and ginger are good and available in a Blackmores brand morning sickness tablet. Sipping little bits of fluid is also helpful, however if you have been sick for some time you will be fairly dehydrated and need IV fluids and maxalon injections.

The blood is most likely from the pressure of constant vommiting or dry reaching, it can also be from burning of the stomach acid.

Hope you feel better soon.

If in any doubt and you live in Queensland ring 13 HEALTH and you will be put through to a qualified nurse who will advise you what to do and where to go if necessary.:detective:

Hey guys....

Just thought I'd let you huys know what happened with the hopsital. After lots of blood tests and what not they admitted me and stuck me on a drip and after 2 anti nausea tablets not working they stuck some drug they use for chemo patients in my drip... left that in overnight and then told me i wasnt going home till i kept food down after not keeping anything down for days... finally kept mash potato down, so they let me go home but told me they're expecting to see me again.... and they gave me pramin.... anyone had to take that??? It doesnt seem to be working to well... already taken one about an hour ago and just threw up juice up... :(

Thanks for your help

Pramin is the trade name for Maxalon.

Yes, I had to take it while pregnant, as far as I'm aware, it is a Category A medication(completely safe, no known or recorded birth defects have resulted from the use of this medication).

Have a look at this link, it explains the drug, and has a section on pregnancy at the bottom: http://www.netdoctor.co.uk/medicines/100001589.html

I had that happen with my first aswell
i had such chronic all day sickness with my first that one day i threw up and filled the toilet with blood just from throwing up. I know how scary that is. I phoned my dr and she told me to come in the next morning. She said its because of throwing up so often i had burst a blood vessel in my throat. She put me on maxalon but it didnt help much either. I hope all gets better for you lots of :hugs: from me

Hey Lissylou...

Things have been alright. Up and down. The Pramin makes me extremely tired... to the point I can't even get out of bed. However If i dont take the Pramin I am constantly sick, sometime (most times) I am sick even with it. So it leaves me in a pickle. Plus I am trying to study fulltime, haven't been able to go all week. Im hoping and thinking happy thoughts though. And I've been a non smoker for a week tomorrow...

Thanks for your concerns

Hey Chrissy hope you are feeling better just wanted to send you a :hugs: and let you know that I feeeeel for you. I am at roughly the same stage (11 weeks) and since 5.5 weeks have had all day sickness, to the point where I actually wake up in the middle of the night to be sick  it really does put a dampen on things doesn't it! Anyway I have been throwing up a little blood and was told that it is due to bursted blood vessels in the back of my throat from straining. The only thing I have found to help is to force myself to drink water. I now it is going to come straight back up but it hurts less than dry retching and seems to help with the blood.

Take care of yourself
