Since birth until about 4 months my son was a perfect sleeper (lucky I know).
He would sleep every night from 8:30pm through till 6:00am whereas he would then come into our bed for a few more hours in the morning.
Since he hit 4 months this waking up time was moved earlier and earlier in the morning. At first it was 5:00am/ Then it moved to 3:00am, Now he doesnt' even make it to 11:30pm.
I don't jump up immediatley. I wait 5 - 10 mins before I go to him. I don't then pick him up. I put him back in his sleeping position, make sure he's not wet and then soothe him until he is quiet again. I've also put a shirt in his cot with my scent on it to help calm him but this hasnt' worked either.
He also doesn't nap during the day. I try and put him down and I'm lucky if I get 10 - 15 minutes out of him all day.
If I try and leave him he screams and screams. This can go on for hours if I let it. The above happens repeatedly until finally we put him in our bed just to get some sleep.
I know babies go through sleep phases, I just need some advice on how to handle this from mums who have gone through similar circumstances.
Thanks in advance from one very very sleepy mum.
