:thumbsdown:GRRRRRRRRRRRRRR
After receving 7OOO grand back child support i have decided to get my finances in order.
I have a credit card ,mastercard with GE.I wanted to pay out the card and close it as it has a massive 20% interest rate and so i rang them twice (as i got cut off the first time and both times they said my balance was $1600 odd.I rang b pay and paid out the exact amount and then rang GE back to close said account.
After checking with me about the amount paid he then tried to tell me i would have to pay an extra fee due to interest etc.
I said quite forcefully that your company provided me with a payout figure as of todays date and i have paid it.He could tell i was really ****ty.
Anyway then he quickly said oh well i 'll just put a notation here to waive the fees.
I thought WTF? So not only does your company try to rip people off for extra than they quote you but if you complain they will waive it.Meaning if you do not complain you just get ripped off for etxtra fees for absolutley nothing.
How can people be like this?I am quite happy to pay what i owe with the interest and all of todays date but why would they try and blantantly rip you off.?
I made sure he closed my account and card.
Do not get a card with GE finance.

Yeah, I can't stand GE. We ran into some money trouble years ago and were behind. Every time I rang to make a pay arrangement, they would say "can you please tell me Mrs X why your payments are late?" WTF, I've only told you 10 times in the last two months why. They made me feel like pond scum.
One of the best days of my life was when I paid that bleeping account off. :yelclap: Very greedy company.

God I hate them too, we just paid out them, Com bank loan and a westpac CC. Now I have an interest free fox symes loan (even though I have a bad credit rating in doing so). It is better then paying GE $200 a month and 1/2 of that going to interest.

A few weeks ago I was about 4 days late on a payment - I'd been flat out busy and just hadn't done it.
They called me at 8.30PM at NIGHT and started grilling me for the reasons why it hadn't been paid.
You could've heard the new one I tore them in Perth I reckon. I absolutely did my LOLLY.
The hide of them. Absolutely dispicable customer relations. When we get our Xmas pressie from Mr Rudd we're paying it out and closing it. And only because of that one phone call got up my nose so much :banghead:

Agh! I know what you mean! I have a store card(creditline) and the interest is 29%! even when my monhtly payment was ONE day late they would ring me asking for the money. I rang a supervisor and they sent me a letter apologising and saying they would only write to me from now on, and offered me a $250 credit on my account.

Sunnyflower, this happened to us, but not with GE but with 3 mobile. When I closed my account - contract was well and truly over - they tried to tell me that it was a $50 contract cancellation fee. WTF my contract was over. I complained as well and they waived it, but I did wonder how many just go ahead and pay??? They tried the same thing a few months later with DH, but they waived it for him too. Hmmm.....
:hair:I had an account with GE it was 12 months intrest free but if you pay one day late they charge an arm and a leg  best thing i done was close my account with them but the funny thing is they still send out blank statements i think they think i might just change my mind and open my account with them well they are so wrong they will never get one more cent off me no way :banghead:

We had issues with them too after we paid the amount they told us we owed they then sent us a bill for the $2-95 mothly account keeping fee plus and additional 50c for paying via bpay and as you can't pay less than $10 on bpay we wrote them a cheque and just to be smart DH added an extra 50c to the amount when we rang to cancel the account a few days later we asked about the 50c credit we had on our account and he had the cheek to say "oh we'll just waive that" ummm no you won't we made them send us a cheque for the 50c which probably cost them more than the paper it was written on!!!! Petty but we felt better!!!!
We have a loan with GE and have had nothing but problems with them! UGH! We paid out half the loan already and I can't wait to get rid of the rest! Never ever going with them again!!!
I HATE them also. They tell me the available balance and yet its not correct even given they say the date. They are never australian, they never listen, i cant even speak to someone most the time, im very ready to get rid of them but im sure it wont be that easy. They are **** holes!!!!
