All the car seat doing the rounds in my family are now all over 10 years old. My bro and SIL are now expecting their 4th child and have tried to convince me that they are allowed to use the seats. I thought that they had to be checked and restamped but they have told me that can't be done anymore.
Can someone fill me in on details because I thought seats over 10 years old couldn't be used anymore???
i was speaking to someone at KidSafe the other day and they said the limit is 10 years.

i'm not sure how long but as the others have said 10 years, i just think that if its old and likely to not be safe etc. that ur better off buying a new one, at least u have peace of mind that ur little one is safe iykwim.
IMHO, car seats aren't the item to save money on! They should buy a new one!
Yeah it is 10 years. I have to get rid of the one I am using for DS2 very soon as it's 10 years is almost up. We got it just before I had DD2 and that was July 1999. Not happy that we have to go out and spend more money but for the safety of DS2 we have to.
