I think I'm happy about that. Or, at least becoming happy with that.
I've learnt that even though I was in an unhappy relationship and wanted to be out of it, it's not easy to adapt to. I thought it would have been easier but it's been lonely.
It's strange, I didn't feel this at all when I left my boys Dad four and a half years ago. I felt the weight lift instantly then. It's happening more slowly this time.
She came last weekend to get her things. I had all of her stuff packed for her and most of it was in the garage so the house had been empty for a while. But it feels more empty now. Probably because I have too many rooms and not enough furniture to fill them all now.
The things I'm loving about being alone: i can cook whatever i like ~ i'm not squished to the edge of the bed ~ i can sit and chill when i feel like it ~ i'm more relaxed with my parenting ~ my house is tidy ~ i read in bed ~ i choose what's on tv ~ i can be quiet when i need to be ~ my car can live in the garage ~ the heater's not on all the time ~ doors are kept closed ~ i can make as much noise as i like on sunday mornings!
I'm looking forward to getting back to the place I once was. To enjoy my life as a single Mum.
:)
