I'm Scared

Along with a few other comebacks has become the standard reply or comment to make of late.

Its driving me insane !

Yanno if it were the truth then I could deal with it but its an excuse.

Like :

" I cant eat my dinner ... Im scared "
" I cant put my toys away .... Im scared "
" I cant get dressed im scared "
" Im not good at it mum you do it ... Im scared "

Along with things like :

" I cant do it ... Im busy just way too busy "
" I cant help G ... Im allergic "
" I cant rinse my toothpaste ... Im allergic "
" Im allergic mum you do it "


Ive tried talking to him about being scared etc but he doesnt care & continues to use it.

Ive tried ignoring it .... He carries on & on & on ...

Please stop me from throttling the child & tell me how to get around this ?

If you find a way around it, I'll pay you for your secret....DS is 4 and is still doing this...

He pulls the "I can't I'm too tired" or "I can't, my legs hurt" etc all the time...drives me batty.

The favourite line in this house "I can't Mum, its a bit tricky"

I just laugh...its never too tricky...he's just too lazy. A bit of "but you've done it before" or "big boys can..." or "does mum need to do it for you?" usually sorts him out. Sick of hearing it though!
