I admit it. My dd is a tv addict. She loves the Wheel of Fortune, not so keen on Dr Phil. She loves watching the women dance on Oz Aerobics every morning, but that's never made me inspired enough to actually get up and exercise. And I know the words to her 2 favorite dvd's off by heart, not that there's many words, but still.

But she's starting having some weird interactions with the tv, like:

- she plays peek-a-boo with the news presenter, holding a bit of blanket up over their face and saying "where'd they go?" It's very cute, but odd.

- She waves bye-bye to the television when the credits for a program start to roll. At least she doesnt' blow kisses at it (yet!)

It's really time to start limiting tv to playschool and only when I absolutely have to get work done!

Anyone else's kids doing things like this or is she a real oddball? lol.

My DD1 used to cry when the RSPCA (I think) ads came on - the ones with the animals all bandaged up. If anyone on the TV was crying she would run up and give the TV a cuddle and a kiss.

She has grown out of this now but it was very cute when she did it. She has never watched a lot of TV (more DVD's) but obviously it had an affect on her.

Now she loves Nemo, Incredibles (not recommended veiwing I am sure!) and The Simpsons (also not brilliant I would think). She has never really been into Playschool, The Wiggles or anything like that but maybe as she gets older!

I knew my DDs watch too much TV when...
- They see a McD ad and say chippies (and that's BEFORE they've even been to McD)
- The too love wheel of fortune and clap when the audience claps
- They see a real person fall up the stairs and laugh like its a "funny home video"
- DD1 also waved bye-bye when the credits came on
- DDs know it mummy's turn when B&B is on
- I know which is Bing and which is Bong on "Tiny Planets"

Cheers

MY son developed an infatuation for Kirstie Ally on the Jenny Craig commercial at around 7 months old and used to nodd his head when she asked "have you called Jenny yet?". Now with the two new adds he still stops what he is doing and smiles at her

my hubby is mad for football and the kids sometimes watch it with him. our 3 yr old girl gets very excited and claps and yahoos when a try or goal is scored, or even when they are just running around on the field

oh yeah, and she likes big brother :p

but her favourite show is dora the explorer. she's even learnt some spanish words  (does that count as "educational" ?)
