Hi Everyone. Got the big fat Negative.:gloomy::gloomy: Oh, well lets hope we don't miss the boat in two weeks again.

Can anyone shed any light on their experience with blocked tubes. The doctor thinks that is the only other reason why hubby and I are missing the target. Fortunately I have no other problems with my cycle, pcos etc, nothing. I basically was just wondering if anyone had a blocked tubes or tubes, did you have any symptoms or did it lay undetected until further investigation.

Thanks all.

Hiya,

We have been ttc#2 for about 12mnths. We got desperate and went to see a ob/gyn. He did the usual tests and concluded that everything was working well and that the only remaining problem must be with the tubes and possible endemetreosis (endo). He booked me in to have a laproscopy (within 4 weeks) to see if this infact was the issue. Also while he was "in there" prodding about he was to burn off any endo that he found. Well the long and the short of it, we didn't go ahead (susposed to be happening this thursday). We joined the health fund too late and they won't cover it as it is existing, far too expensive for us just now. :banghead:

In answer to your other question about symptoms, I have pain often. I had always put it down to ovulation pain. Every now and then I get what I call an electric strangling pain, this can occur at any place within my pelvis. I am not sure if this has anything to do with endo or blocked tubes and I won't know until I have a laproscopy (if I ever do?). I also get painful af's, but no where near as painful as when I was a teenager (well before I had my son). So I just don't get it?

We are currently at cd28 and am too scared to test just yet, can't face the disapointment yet once again! It's just nice to dream at the moment. The test is sitting in my bathroom drawer, I may brave it on Sunday....

I don't know if any of this was any help? But I hope that it works out for you either way. It doesn't hurt to see a Dr, just make sure your health insurance is up to date if you want quick answers/assistance.

Good Luck! :fingerscrossed:

Liams Mama:wave: Hi, thank you so much for sharing your journey. My:fingerscrossed: :fingerscrossed: for you and hubby and I hope you see those two positive lines. We just figure, we can pregnant, it's just baking them long enough once they have made an appearance. Though we've been really really trying since the start of the year, we haven't been on any contraception since we lost our little princess in November 04, so we are a little concened, because it's been 18motnhs, but all the tests have come back fine.I think it may just be the stress of our loss and the desire to fall pregnant again. I just would have thought that there would be other tell tale signs of a blocked tube, and other than taking 2nurofen on the start of my af's I breeze through it.(lucky)

Thank you so much and hugs to you for Sunday. :hugs:

One of my mum's friends had a lot of trouble TTC and when to see an obstetrician and he detected blocked tubes on testing and cleared them out. She was pregnant pretty much straight away ?first month. She went on to have a normal and healthy pregnancy and had two other children in quick succession, so I assume she no longer had any trouble TTC.

We joined the health fund too late and they won't cover it as it is existing, far too expensive for us just now. :banghead: I had a laparoscopy as well to check on my tubes, lining of the uterus etc but all was ok. I had endom. which I suspected anyway as I had suffered with pain etc for years so the specialist got rid of it.

mine cost $860 and was conducted at IVF Australia as day surgery. How much are you talking about that it's going to cost you?

Lissylou all the best with the investigations you will be undergoing and GOOD LUCK with TTC afterwards

I haven't had blocked tubes as such, but have had scarring on the inside of my tubes which caused me to have two ectopic pregnancies. Hubby and I are still TTC#1 atm, and are hoping for a miracle by the end of the year :)

Hi Butterflykisses

It was going to cost about $1500 for the dr alone, plus the anethetist (can't spell it!) and the private hospital stay for day surgery. All up we worked it out to $3000.

Where abouts did you go exactly? Who refered you, GP or sepcialist? Someone suggested that we could go on the public wait list and go, if still waiting at 12 mnths then go back through private system as the health fund will pay after 12 mnths. That's still 12 MONTHS WAIT - arghhhh! :banghead:
