I have somehow (surprised even me) got DS into a routine. It's working really well so far & I have become a total routine Nazi but I'm wondering if I have it right for his age & what others at his age are doing. Even though I've done this all before my brain has removed most of the memories of when DD was a baby so it's like I'm doing it all for the first time again!

For interests sake he is Breastfed and he feeds every 3-4 hours depending on his sleep legnth except when I cluster feed between 4.30 and 7pm.

He has 4 sleeps per day ranging from 45 minutes (if we're out and have distractions) to 2.5 hours on a really good day. But generally he sleep from 1- 2 hours per sleep.

He is sometimes cranky between sleeps, and other times he is happy. His mood doesn't depend on the legnth of his last sleep.

So I guess he sleeps around 4-5 hours a day on a normal day and he sleeps from 7pm till 2 or 3am at night then goes back to sleep after a quick feed till about 5ish. Sometimes he differs from this ofcourse - like sometimes he wakes up at 2am wanting to party till 4 but hey he is a male after all & isn't perfect!

How much does your lil one sleep?

I don't really count how long Henry lasts between feeds but he lasts about an hour to 90mins awake now before needing a nap. He nap lengths vary a lot but range from 45 mins to 2.5 hours but a more often about an hour to an hour and a half I would say.

He goes to bed for the night at 6:30-7pm. I am now giving him a dreamfeed around 9:00pm so he lasts until around 1-2am. He then needs another feed about 5-6am and then 'gets up' about 8am.

He is a big eater so he does wake a few times during the night if I don't give him a dreamfeed.

Ry is exactly the same during the day. He does cluster feed between 5 and 6 - 6.30 ish then down until between 3 and 4. He then has a quick feed and back down till 7.30. He always wakes at 7.30 for some reason. Even if he wakes earlier at night (the odd night he wakes around 1.30 instead).

Bridie is similar to the other posts, she generally wakes at about 7am, and is back down by about 8:30am, on a good day she'll sleep til 11am (when I would wake her to feed, as I don't let her go longer than 4 hours during the day...she's such a littley), sometimes only til 10am...and so on.

She feeds at 11am then back down after an hour and a half and then 2 or 3pm during the day. She then usually eats at 6pm, down by about 7 then a sleepy feed at 10pm. She usually sleeps through the night til 7am then. It's been about 3 weeks since she woke for a feed in the night. Sometimes she wakes at 4am ish and chortles to herself and goes back to sleep.

The nurse at mum's group says 'sleep breeds sleep', so I suppose the more they sleep, the more they sleep.

If Bridie wakes earlier than when a 3 hour feed is due, we usually go for a walk, she usually falls asleep in the pram for a little bit, so there's some more sleep! Sometimes she wakes briefly in the middle of sleep time and I can put her back down without much fuss 15-20 mins later.

Sorry for the rambling...hope you get the picture!

Piper is 3 months today. For some time now she has been sleeping thru the night for me. Generally she sleeps from 9pm to 6-7am without a feed. She is ravenous when she wakes but then goes to sleep again after a feed within an hour. During the day she has 4 sleeps. Although they are not timed I would range them from 30-90minutes each. Not sleeping during they day can be a problem because she sleeps so well at night.
We have no routine. Piper is FF but never feeds on time. Some evenings she will flat out refuse to eat for upto 5 hours and then only eat half. She will then go on to sleeping 8 or so hours.

Jessica is kind of the same too.
She will Wake usually at 7-7.30am and i feed her, then go back to sleep until about 9.30am which is when she 'gets up'. She has a play and i feed her around 10.30am, she then needs a sleep at about 12.30pm for anywhere b/w 20-45min. She feeds again at about 2pm and then needs her sleep again by 3-3.30pm (if she does not get this 3pm sleep she gets really grumpy!!). This is a longer sleep which lasts anywhere from 45min to 2hrs. She then wants her 'dinner' and is put to bed at 7.30-8pm.
i sometimes wake her for a dream feed at 10.30pm and sometimes she sleeps through. But last night she woke again at 3.30am for a night feed and straight back to sleep. (So nights are still not a routine as such!)
