just want to know the procedure for toddlers to get this done. they would have to put him to sleep now is that right?
We would have had him done when he was younger but there are no doc's in our small town that do it, and we are 1300k away from the next city. plus, i wanted to wait, so he could be asleep when they do it. i was 50/50 on it.
Anyone know how this works with a 2 yo?

Hi there,

When my first son was born he was premmie and we diddnt even think about circ coz we were just worried about him. By the time we thought of it, it was too late as they will only do up to 6 weeks old. When my second son was born we had him done straight away then started to investigate for our 2 year old. We found that doctors in the public sector will only circ for medical reasons. we found that you need to go through the private sector. Look up in your yellow pages for a peadiatric seurgon and ring and ask if they do circ for cosmedic purposes. They do indeed get put under and you get a choice of pain releif methods. My two hear old said ouch a couple of time but it really diddnt worry him. im so glad i have them both done now. Any questions just pm me.

Both of my nephews had to wait until they were 2 to be circumcised. When the children are 2 or older, then they are put under a general anesthetic to have the procedure.

my nephew was done by the same doc as my son, he wasn't put to sleep. he was sedated and given a local anesthetic. he didn't feel a thing. he was also allowed to have his mum there and one other person to help with holding him down while they put the local in. sounds bad but it wasn't. they down it the same way for my son he was 6 months
