View Full Version : please help me, help my bestie
so my bestie is gay, he is such a great person but has just had his heart broken. he is so down. he says he hates being gay. that there is no way to meet new guys apart from seedy nightclubs or online dating sites where all anyone is after is sex. he wants to me someone to love and he deserves to be happy. so how can i help him think of new ways to meet decent gay guys? any suggestions?
A friend of mine is in the same boat at the moment. He's so sick of the 'scene' and feels he'll never meet anything but pill poppers and players in places like that. (Which is so true)
He's a professional and has a GREAT career. He doesn't think it unreasonable to meet other professionals... They just don't seem to be out there.
He heard of a night that's on once a month or so called Fruits in Suits. It's a night that was set up for professional guys to meet other professional guys. This is in Melbourne. I'm not sure where he is situated but there must be something like that in other states too.
There is the ALSO foundaiton that has lots of links to sports groups, etc. He might find something helpful through that.
It's so hard to meet someone suitable... I wish him all the best.
Fruits in Suits is a great event! I went along with a close mate a while back.. great night.. not the usual 'scene' like you say whippet and plenty of women there too (lemon with a twist - LOL, love that name!)
thanks the fruit in suits is in sydney too thats an awesome idea ill def pass it along to my bestie
ayone got anything else to add?

Ah, supermumof3, your bestie sounds like my dear little brother! I wouldn't be surprised if they are the same person!!
My bestie is gay, also, and he met a lot of people through ACON. He started going to workshops there when we were younger, ended up running some groups etc, but met some really amazing people. Might be worth checking out? They have a website, just google.
I wish I could convince my bro to go along to some of the workshops but he's a big wuss bag
