-You saw a toddler playing in the gutter naked and unsupervised?.
- All 4 kids playing in the middle of the street unsupervised?.
-You saw a toddler standing in your driveway unsupervised?.
-You heard their father & grandfather yelling at /threatening these children?.
-You saw their father yelling "schools that way *********" & then chasing his son who had no shoes on?.
-You were 98% the father & grandfather were on speed and possibly selling it also.

Just after some opinions. :o

If I experienced all that I would be calling child welfare. That is disgusting behaviour.

I have... Just a bit concerned that if these kids get placed in care that worst things may happen to them :(.
I know it was a long time ago but my dad was abused 700x worse in care than he was in his home ( for those who know, i'm talking about the mulligan inquiry).

There are a lot of "checks and balances" in place for foster parents now. Please don't worry about this - you did the right thing.

I wasn't aware of this, that eases my mind a bit :)

 I would. There are definate issues of neglect, verbal abuse and substance abuse, all of which child protection would consider serious enough to investigate.

Yes. Absolutely. You did the right thing. Foster care has changed a lot in recent years.

Yes.... and modern day systems for becoming foster carers are a LOT different and more stringent than the things that were allowed to occur generations ago....

yes yes yes and yes!!!!
PLEASE!!!!

I was abused as a child myself, and i can tell you i have a never ending anger towards the schools, the neighbours and the family friends that knew things were wrong, but never wanted to involve themselves.

Its our responcibility as a society to keep all children safe not just our own

I don't know if this is against the law, but would you be able to video tape or record what you saw/heard?

I think the trick to dept. of families is to complain and keep complaining and tell them you will continue to do so until something is done or one of these kiddies dies or gets injured?

I know here in QLD they are sticklers for abuse/neglect reporting because sadly so many kids have fallen through the cracks....

Good Luck :hugs:

I think you did the right thing.

I guess you have to ask yourself- how would you feel if you hadnt called, and you find out that something did happen to these kids in the current home? Would you be able to live with yourself?

I always say that regardless of the outcome, it doesnt hurt to have things investigated if your concerned.
