Did anyone see the movie Jersey Girl? I did and have been freaking out ever since... I know it is not common these days, and if you have heard of it being common or know of a bad story, please don't tell me about it as I only want to hear good stories to be re-assured... But I am starting to freak out about the labour and dying from Complications... I am so scared... I have had two normal and natural births and remember how painful they were, but I also have an irregular heartbeat, which used to be much worse, but due to having an operation on it after dd1, it is 100% better than it was... And although the heart specialist thinks I am fine and is happy with me being a low risk category I am still really petrified... Is anyone else feeling the way I am or having a similar situation???

I have seen that movie too and remember thinking at the time maybe this is not such a good idea and then I remembered- IT'S A MOVIE.
I think its perfectly natural to feel a little anxious now but try not to worry yourself too much. Like you said you have had two normal births previously and you have a pretty good idea what to expect. And your operation was after DD1 so you shouldn't have too much to worry about there, especially also with your specialist saying all is ok. Also you will be in one of the safest places on earth should anything go wrong, not saying that it will but you will be.
Saying all that I can completely relate to the way you are feeling. This is my first bub and really have no idea what to expect. I am surrounding myself with positive people and trying to keep a positive attitude.
Try not to worry yourself too much!!!

I have tried not to really think that way. I get so emotional so easily these days so I figure it's not a great thing to dwell on.
Unfortunately a couple weeks ago I got "Whalerider" out from the DVD shop to watch again. I had completely forgotten the opening scene where the mother of the main character dies in childbirth. I was howling in short order and we immediately stopped the movie.
Maybe I can watch it again after the birth
Any shows dealing with childbirth are touch and go with me. I tend to go silly awful fast.

I guess all any of us can do is prepare ourselves the best we can and trust our chosen caregivers. My doula is always asking me what emotional things I'm working through and part of her roll is to help us work through such things. I'd suggest if you're having worries about anything at all - not just the physical stuff - then you find someone to work through them with.

It's also my first so I also have little idea what to expect but I do have a fabulous doula so I like to share the benefits I'm getting from her.

Good luck :D
