Every mum I've spoken to who has had multiple c-sections, tells me that the obs normally cuts around the scar and after, it's virtually invisible. My sister says hers is scarcely noticeable these days and it's only after your second c-section that they can 'tidy' the scar up nicely, iykwim?

I've noticed that with this pregnancy advancing, my scar has stretched and has become quite irritating of late. It aches (normal, I guess) and also itches like you wouldn't believe. Never mind the scar tissue that is developing. So my question is, what happens to this scar if I were to have a VBAC? Will I be destined to live with this huge bit of scar tissue for the rest of my life?

What are your experiences?

TIA!

My CSection scar is barely noticeable, but I had it nearly 9 years ago now. I don't get the bit about tidying it up - it's just a cut? In the first year or so it was red and itchy, I also had a bit of overhang for 12 months or so, but that went.
With subsequent pgs they will probably scan to check the placenta position, it can sometimes get embedded in the scar and that can cause problems. For instance, my placenta is low lying and I've got to see if they will allow me to VBAC this time, although the placenta moved for my 2nd child and I was OK.

I just read the thread about scars in the CSection forum and get you now! It might be worth having a read but I personally didn't have the guts to look at the pics. x
