Hi, Gold Coast Mum-to-Be here...

My partner works for a company in Brisbane and we are considering a move... To North Eastern Suburbs... Anyone able to tell me a little about Deception Bay Area, Scarborough and Redcliffe areas??

Also, are there any Mums in these areas?? If we move, id say it would be right as bub is born and id need SOMEBODY!

Redcliffe/Deception Bay is about 40 mins nth of the city. Housing is pretty cheap unless you are right on the water. Its more of an older community i would say, reminds me of Paradise Point on the GC. A girl i work with lives there and she says its pretty quite. Its close to the new Northlakes shopping centre also. Where does hubby work? IS it close for him?

awe thanks!

DF is ready to go... but I am still making up my mind on wether I want to or not. LOL

At least there seems to be a few ladies who are willing to be friends! Im gonna need them!!!

DF will be working all over the Northern Suburbs... he wants to live near the water because I am a surfer at heart and will be miserable without the water nearby... he says there is no surf, but at least it is ocean... and there is only a half hour drive (??) to the nearest surfing beach... :)

hi jessi and other peninsula mummas
we're up in scarborough and its pretty great. nice beaches, love the lagoon, good coffee and yummy wine bar mmmmmmm. main drawback is the gateway mtwy.........full of useless drivers and gridlock. my dp travels everyday to uni and is so over it. so if your partner is planning on driving...i hope he likes sitting in traffic!!
pm me if ya like, we're always up for meeting other mummas
:) jess

faery,

would prefer the gateway to sydney traffic anyday!!

So glad i have finished up at work no more bumper to bumper peak hour coming from north parramatta to campbelltown, (an hour and a half for a 45 minute trip  )

so it seems like there are a few mums in the redcliffe area - we should be alright jessi!!

lauren :)
