For me, initially, it was the cuteness factor, but after using them for a while it was things like the fit, rise, absorbancy and trimness

So, what do you look for in a nappy?

I look for absorbency and fit, cuteness too, but it's less important. I also look for the crucial husband factor. Will he use this nappy? - he gets pretty annoyed with nappies with lots of fiddly bits (so generally, yes to pockets and some AIOs, no to fitteds).

absorbancy and trimness, oh and a good price.

I look for a nappy that is well made......then it's gotta be a great fit and look funky!! And of course a reasonable price. I'm lucky that ds isn't a heavy wetter so I don't need to worry too much about absorbency....I havn't ever had a nappy that hasn't been absorbent enough for him....I generally don't even need to use extra boosters that come with some nappies.

I look for cuteness, trimness, absorbency, and fit. Most important is absorbency and fit. I like to have some trim nappies (eg bumGenius) for certain clothes but overall these days I prefer the bulkier ones as Kieran is so skinny that they make his pants stay up better! The other day he was in a disposable which is rare and his shorts were literally falling down and DH asked what was wrong with his clothes!

When I first got into MCN I was obsessed with finding trim nappies as I wanted them to be EXACTLY the same as disposables. Now I think a big bum is way cuter :) And I think disposables suck. Babies are supposed to have padded rears.

i agree, a big cloth bum is cuter....:D

i'm not too concerned with trimness, because having a heavy wetter i know that trimness means lack of absorbancy.
