Hi ladies
I'm after a recommendation for someone to help us with our nearly 2yo who is still waking a lot during the night. We've had 3 failed attempts to go to the O'Connell Family Centre (one of us has gotten sick each time) and want to try to get someone in at home. We're after someone who does NOT use a CC/CIO approach and would love to hear from anyone who has had success.
Many thanks

We did Koo Wee Rup for a day stay but they use CC. It was good for a while when we got home but then we had our ups and downs. I think most of it was due to teething.
To this day though I still think that all of the things that they suggested was really helpful.
No I wasnt happy letting them put my girl to cry it out while on a feed play sleep routine but its been the best thing switching to this method.
Yes she used to cry before bed time or even have a whinge but now she knows its sleep time when we put her in her suit...give her the sleep message.
She has learnt how to settle herself to sleep even if she wakes through the night and thats been a savior for us. She became dependant on my breastfeeds and I thought her waking me to feed her would never end.
I have a neighbour who has had to go back to sleep school (South Eastern Private). they have a 6 month old and I asked him if they use CC. He said that they do but that they also did patting??
Im not really sure of their methods but maybe you could call them and speak to one of their nurses and see what they say.
We had a council lady come by our house and even she suggested patting but that method never really worked for us...only when she was younger.
Good luck with your search and hoping you all get some sleep soon

Thanks. I had a good talk to my MCHN today and she has recommended a paed at the Children's who specialises in sleep and underlying issues as she's sure it's not just behavioural/sleep association related. We'llsee how we go...
