Hi

I was just wondering if anyone knew if you can get superannuation out if its under a certain amount?

I only have $460 in my super (due to working for a company that did minimal super contributions) and now I am a SAHM, its just getting eaten away in fee's. I got told by a friend that they got their's out as it was under $1000, and if it's under $1000 you could get it out. Is this true? Any help would be great. My super is with Host plus.

(hope this makes sense:fingerscrossed: )

This amount should be protected from fees. The government legislation stipulates that balances under a certain amount (I think its $2,000) must be protected from fees and charges.

If they are taking fees out are they for insurance?

Ring HOST and ask them if you are able to have the money released. The rules have changed alot and most amounts are preserved and you can't access them until retirement. Best to ring HOST and see what they say.
