A Question ?????

Hello Everyone,
We have been ttc since setember 2007, Can anyone tell me if alcohol affects you when you are ttc? We think that is why we havent conceived yet, We are both on mulitvitamins my partner is taken menevit. Is there anything else we can do to helpus a bit ! :cloud9::sunshine:

This is what my doctor said: she said that research has not been proven that alcohol can have a negative affect when couples are TTC....

However...in order to give yourself the best chance and to ensure your body is at its best I would say large quantities of alcohol should be avoided...a social drink should be fine ;)

I've read that even very small amounts of alcohol can reduce your chances of conceiving each month. Some Doctors say that you shouldnt drink at all, yet others say the standard 1 drink per day is fine. Personally, I'm not that stict with myself. I dont drink everyday, in fact, I would probably have at most 2 standard drinks per week. Unless you drink more than 1 per day or you binge drink regularly, I wouldnt get too concerned, as long as the amount you're drinking is minimal. Maybe check this out with your Doctor next time you visit?

If you are ttc, then you shouldn't drink alcohol....but "does it reduce the chance? "...I doubt it. I know MANY girls who have had a big night out, got completely drunk, done the deed with no protection, and end up preg.

I wonder this also. My hubby is a non drinker but I do have a drink most nights. Not to excess but we've been trying since feb 2007 and nothing but an early MC in January this year, conceived over the Christmas Party season!
So who knows...maybe the alcohol contributed to the MC.
Honestly, I have no idea, but any steps to have a healthy pregnancy...

Thanks for your reply , the reason i thought of alcohol is because i had my other children and i didnt drink as much as i do now i fell pregnant quite soon with them both and this time it has taken a little longer than expected
