no i dont only have one boob
haha

but i seem to have a problem with only one boob filling with milk

my right boobs becomes hard and full and the left still feels completely empty.

i am still getting a let down on the left though and some milk seems to come out.
but he doesnt seems satisfied with the one boob if hes feeding off the left.
but he seems full from just the right one

what the hell is going on??

what can i do to fix this?

oh hes 2 weeks old now too!

I had this problem where my right would seem less full than my left (But that was cos during the night I was too lazy to use a different position with the right - had to use football hold in the beginning)..

Anyway, what I ended up doing was offering my right first at each feed, and then my left. I figured that way DD was draining my right completely and only having a little from the left.. Eventually it evened out.

Hope that helps..

try starting your feeds off with the empty boob

Just wanted to send huge amounts of :hugs:, I feel your frustration. My little man refuses my right boob totally now. SO i am weaning him (but he is 5months now)

I would get in contact with a lactation consultant, or if you can not afford one, get in contact with child health in your state. You can go to free feeding clinics. I hope this helps.

Also i would offer him the better breast, but half way through when he is settled swap him sides, then swap again, and again to help boost your supply to the lacking breast. Good luck, keep us posted

Oh I hear your frustration !!!!!!!!

This happened to me with DD2 my right side would be massive and my left side I was lucky to get 5ml out of it if I was lucky  Anyway I called the ABA and they suggested I express as much as possible to help boost the supply and feed on that side first and for any top ups etc.... Unfortunately for me I had a 13mth old as well and just couldn't manage to find the time to express etc... so it dried right up !!!! I fed on the one side for a little while but it was just so hard and frustrating I put her on a bottle at 9 weeks :(

Also maybe try some Fenugreek tablets they boost your supply and seemed to work well for me early on this time & also there is a recipe for lactation cookies around here somewhere which I have heard lots of girls talk about.

Good luck, for something that is meant to be so natural is can sure be hard work sometimes hey!!!!

Take care

I had oversupply on my left side when DS was a few weeks old. I corrected it by starting feeds with the left side and finishing with the right until it was good again.

My one-sided oversupply happened because I favoured the left side in the first few weeks when my nipples were grazed and sore (the right side was the worst, hence why I tended to favour the other side). It was only after the oversupply problem started that I realised what was going on, but luckily my nipples had started to heal and I was able to feed DS more from the right side.

It basically fixed itself in time, but it actually took many months for the right side to catch up, and even still at 20 months my right side isn't quite as efficient....but with DS on solids it isn't so crucial as the first 6 months.

Um...yes...the lopsided look isn't the best! I went through this for a while, but it gradually worked itself out. All the best :)
