I've decided I want to switch to clothies but Im a bit confused as to which ones to get. Ive read the oz cloth nappies site which has been very useful, and Ive been to the online shops and have NO IDEA which to get. Heres my situation:

*I have a 2 1/2 year old who I want to start toilet training within the next 6 months. He also has eczema so only cottons can come in contact with his skin, no wools/fleece etc. as they irrritate him.

*I have a 16mo boy who will probably be using them for at least another year.

Can they be used throughout the night, and which ones dry quickly? Which types are easiest to use and which brands are best value for money?

I wish I had decided to go cloth earlier, I didn't realise how great the modern clothies are as I always pictured them as being those towel-like things that you fold, pin and then have to hand scrub!

TIA, any help is much appreciated!

hi! My idea in your situation would go one size fits all (osfa). for your older son i would buy/make some cotton liners and use (all in ones) aio's. they are so easy, just chuck em in the wash and they dry really quick. there are soooo many brands though, all a little differant. i found bumGenius to be a good one, and they come in osfa. For night nappies, i like sandmans with wool cover (shortie soakers). good luck!

Thanks!
I will check out the bumgenius nappies. He can't have the wool cover cos of his eczema, are there any alternatives for night nappies?
Can you tell me about AI2's? In terms of ease, quick to dry etc.

ai2's i think is the pockets. they are better in my opinion cause you can alter the absorbancy to suit your needs. they dry quicker and are just better. my daughter has a few green kids which are pocket and i love them. for nights, you can try using a pul cover instead of wool. either that or polar fleece. you will just need more absorbancy for either cause wool acts as a barrier, but pul sort of just holds it in iykwim? So i'd probably go pul.

Last night I ordered a 6 pack of the BBH minkee magic-alls (fingers crossed they are good ones) for day times. With the AIO's, can you add more inserts to make it suitable for night time? I don't really get how many 'layers' they are supposed to have for what situation.
