When I woke up this morning, i seemed to have lost most of my vision... I usually have pretty good eye-sight... Im currently paying off a pair of glasses for reading/computer work but other than that I have had no problems with my sight...

I got up and it was like someone had shone a bright light into my eyes... All I could see was white in my left eye and half of my right eye...

It came back by the afternoon, but it was still really bizarre- I havent experienced this before.. Temporary Blindness type thing...

Anyone else had this happen to them?

I would definitely call the hospital to see what they say or try to see your GP quickly.

I would have to agree with the others about the high bp thing i got temporary vision loss quite a few times and could never figure out why until i read up on PE and then was diagnosed with PE :fingerscrossed: you are ok but definately get it checked out a.s.a.p as it can be serious:hugs:

When I was pregnant I lost my peripheral vision a couple of times and had a few patchy bits, hard to explain but it was like I had to put my head sideways a bit to see straight, like I had to look out of the side of my eye rather than front, iykwim. Anyway, it turned out to be nothing serious, my OB said that migraines can present like that.

Yes, go and see your doctor/ob about it asap, but try not to stress, it might just be a bad headache. :fingerscrossed:

I had something similar, but everything was black. I think I was just overheated(was wearing black pants on a 40 degree day and was out in the sun) and dehydration.

Eeeeek... thanks ladies... Most people I spoke to said it must have been a migraine but I never actually got a headache... Vision has since returned to normal... I dont know anything about Pre-Eclampsia... Maybe I should go do some reading now! Just in case.

Jessi migraines can definitely interfere with your vision...but so can pre-eclampsia - which is potentially very dangerous for you & your bubba. You would be wise to contact your dr or midwife immediately for their advice.

No, I didn't get head pain at all, just the wonky vision thing. But as the others have said, please go and see a doctor just in case! :hugs:

Definitely get it checked out ASAP. I had an episode recently where I had the bright light but also my body seemed to heat up and I had ringing in my ears. I was found by my partner unconcious after I had sat down. Came to for a bit but then lost conciousness again. Hospital have run tests on my heart and are now ruling out seizures as my blood pressure is always fine.
