View Full Version : Help How To Increase Cervical Mucus
Hi There,
I am currently on Day 10 of a 28 Day cycle and so far have not had much cervical mucus and also temps have been a bit a low. What is a way of increasing cervical mucus. Is there anything natural that I can take?
Any advise would be much appreciated.

Hi kimcam,
You can help with cervical mucous by drinking lots of water aswell as green tea and also by taking evening primrose oil from the start of your cycle up until ovulation. You could even start to take the EPO it might just make a difference.
Hope this helps
Hi Kim,
You can take vitamin B6 - about 80 to 120 mg a day and that will increase mucus. You have to stop taking it when you're preggers tho. Also, stay off the vitamin C supplements - just get the C from fruit. Vitamin C reduces CM.
Also Clomid and other fertility drugs dry up the CM - don't know if you're on those.
Good luck! But don't worry about it - everyone is different and you won't necessarily get EWCM until a day or two before you O.

Why? B6 is supposed to be good for preventing morning sickness and there is also evidence that supplementing with B6 throughout the pregnancy may help prevent PE.
KimCam, if you don't have much cervical mucous it may be an oestrogen deficiency. There are herbs you can take to help with this but you'd need to discuss it with a naturopath to make sure it's right for you.
I agree with BonnieH that it's only a problem if you don't have much CM a few days leading up to and during ovulation. The rest of the cycle the amount of CM doesn't matter.
