Could be a dumb question so bear with me

My DD has been invited to a 4th birthday party on Saturday morning.

It's from 10.30 to 12.30. I'm not going to be here so DH is going to have to take her.

Does he leave her there or does he stay?

I dunno what the done thing is :o When I was that age I don't remember all the parents hanging around for parties but that was a loooong time ago and I guess things are different now.

What do they normally do?

I'd say stay.

There are parents who will and won't stay but at 4 I'd say he should probably hang around.

I always stay.

My DH had to take DD to a 4th b'day party last weekend as I was away. He also had DS with him so he just entertained him...it was at Macca's.

DD is 4 and DS is 6..
I still stay at most of the parties..
Unless its someone I know really well.

DS went to a party at a bowling alley and a kid wandered off...

At 4 I stayed, but it was either at Macca's or a close friend who (I think) expected all the adults to stick around anyways. If it was at someone's house who I didn't know, like a friend of DD's from daycare, I'd probably not stay around. If it was somewhere public (park, Macca's, bowling, playcentre) I'd offer to stay to help watch the kids.

At 4 years old I'd definitely be staying. My DD is almost 5 and at the parties she's been to this year the parents have always stayed. I think its just a bit too young to leave them, unless of course its a relative or really close friend, in which case I'd be wanting to stay and enjoy the celebration with them anyway!

Thanks ladies...I phoned the mum today and asked her and she said she was happy for us to do either, but I think DH will be staying...he is mightily impressed at spending the morning with all the mummies let me tell you!
