View Full Version : Umbrella strollers - any recommendations?
I am keen to buy an umbrella stroller for using when out and about at the shops etc. and taking on an upcoming overseas trip. I am looking to spend about $100 and have narrowed it down to the new Childcare Rover or the BabyLove Trekker. We tested the BabyLove Trekker today and it seemed pretty good but I have since read a very negative review.
Has anyone out there got either of these strollers and got any feedback or any alternative suggestions?
Thanks,
Jo
Hi Jo
We've just bought ourselves a stroller (we were a bit tired of our old pram that had a sqeaky wheel). We had a look at quite a few and bought the Steelcraft Phoenix. It has a large basket under and a handy set of zippered pouches that hang at the back, with mesh inserts so you don't have to rumage for keys or your mobile. It also has a sunhood, the seat reclines and carries kids up to about 17kg. I have no complaints about it, it cost about $129 (normal retail price).
Cheers
Thanks Samantha, I had seen this one and thought it looked pretty good. I will check it out.

We also bought the steelcraft Phoenix and highly recommend it.
My sister in law also bought it and she is quitre tall and found it ok as some are quite low.
I believe the seat is also wider and a bit longer then others which is great as they get bigger and it is a layback as well if they fall asleep. :)
Hi!
I also highly reccommend the Steelcraft Phoenix stroller. I did a bit of research on the net before I bought it, and it stood out from the others. It only weighs 7.5kg, is quite easy to put up and down, has cool handy pouches and 5 seat positions... It is also fairly easy to steer with 1 hand - essential!! It also came with a plastic "storm cover". A good buy! I think we paid $129 also...
Cheers!
