View Full Version : Which trampoline?

(Assuming the economy hasn't gone down the toilet by the time Christmas arrives...) I was considering getting my DD and DH a trampoline for Christmas. DH has always wanted one - although he likes the idea of a really big olympic sized one, and DD is nearly 3 and would really enjoy one, so I was considering a 15 or 16ft circular one with nets from Ebay to try and accomodate both of the them, both in size and safety.
Does anyone have experience with what to look for? Or recommendations where I should go instead. I love the idea of a Springfree one, but there is just no way the budget can stretch that far- it's really pushing it to try and afford one as it is. (Ideally I'd be looking for a second hand one, but while I've seen 14ft ones come up - I haven't seen 15 or 16ft ones - does that extra room make THAT much difference?)
Any ideas, experiences, recommendations would be appreciated.

One thing I would look for is Aussie made, or to make sure at the very least you could get replacement parts if needed.

I'd also be looking for a high weight limit even if you wouldnt "need" one because to me I think I trampoline with a 150kg weight limit will last ALOT longer than one with just a 80kg limit would with someone say 50kg jumping on it if you know what i mean?

Also look at the kind of enclosure, does it do up with zippers or velcro or both? Do you have a preference?

Also look to see that the poles for the saftey net thing go all the way down to the ground, not just bolt onto the "legs" as if they go all the way down it will provide better support :)

Good luck! I'm getting my DD just the tiny 8ft one for xmas as we only have a small courtyard and thats all that will fit out there LOL

Hi meredithlinda ,

Here's a link to a previous thread about trampolines: TRAMPS (http://www.bubhub.com.au/community/forums/showthread.php?t=205825&highlight=Trampoline). Not sure if there is any info there to help but thought it couldn't hurt (was also being lazy on my part not wanting to re-type my post :o).

Good luck with your tramp hunt!
