I'm new to the site, so hello and all that. I've been reading for a while and you all seem genuinely helpful, so I figured I'd just ask!
My partner and I have been TTC #1 just for this month, but we've got an issue. I bleed constantly. My gyno recently gave me Provera which was meant to 'reset' my cycle. I was to take for 21 days, after which I was meant to have a 'withdrawal bleed' within a couple of days. It's been 10 days now and I'm still not bleeding. I've done a pregnancy test which was negative...
I'm assuming that with all the bleeding, I'm not ovulating....
Does anyone have any advice? I'm feeling a bit lost and it would really help if someone could offer some advice.
Have a great day!

Hi GirlsGerms, Sorry I don't have any experiences like this so I can't send you one of those "genuinly helpful" posts, just thought I'd send you a :hugs: in case you were feeling in short supply at the mo ;)

Hi Girlgerms,
Do you always bleed constantly or is it just this month since you started TTC? If you've just gone off the pill it can take a little while for your cycle to settle down. I know I've had all sorts of strange bleeding when I've stopped taking the pill.
However, I recently had bleeding for 3 weeks after my period ended before I finally went to the doctor. It turns out I was pregnant and unfortunately having a miscarriage. The doctor did a urine test which was negative but then a blood test came up positive. If you have no luck soon maybe ask for a blood test to rule out that possibility?
I was also concerned that the bleeding would interfere with ovulation/conception which is why I finally went to the doctor. I guess it didn't, though, because I was pregnant!
I know it's frustrating when your body won't cooperate! I got pregnant first cycle last time but we've been trying for 4 1/2 months this time with no luck.
Hope this helps.

I bled pretty much non stop (ie. maybe a day here and there with no bleeding) from January to August 2004 and was then put on the pill which stopped the bleeding. Since I went on the pill, I’ve only been taking sugar pills every 3 months. Once I went off the pill I, again, didn’t stop bleeding (quite heavily) for many weeks. I’m just so confused and the doctors and my gyno don’t really seem to take it all that seriously.

They should be taking it seriously!! It's not normal to bleed like that. Maybe you should try a different GP and/or gyno. Could it be endometriosis or cysts? A friend of mine has bleeding similar to yours and she's had cysts removed a couple of times. Her bleeding gets so bad that she has to sleep on a towel!! I think it's just during her period though.
Anyway, best thing to do would be to get a second or third opinion.
