:D everyone....

I know that November still is a far way off, but unfortunately my AF arrived yesterday and at the moment i have a 45 day cycle (all over the place because i came off the pill 5 months ago). This means that i probably won't be able to do a test until mid November.

Is anyone else going to be testing in early November?

Im finding it really :hair: to have to wait until Nov so thought that if i had others in the same boat that i could talk to, it wouldn't make the waiting as hard. :hugs:

Any thoughts appreciated.....

hi hopingtobeamummy:wave:

I, too, am in a similar situation to you... I am on Day 38 of my cycle and this month I o'd on Day 34, so am in for a long cycle. I also won;t be testing this month as DH had a knee operation the week before O and well you get the picture:crying:

So if this cycle ends at about Day 46 (i hope not too much longer) then I won;t be able to test until close to the end of November!

It is very frustrating, and as O is all over the place it makes timing things very difficult..

Oh well, I hope things work out for you this cycle:fingerscrossed:

I might be testing in november on cd40 and still haven't ovulated so depending on my US and what the dr wants i should start provera at the beginning of nov end of oct so might squeeze a november test in

hehe hopefully i can test in november too!!!! :fingerscrossed: AF decides to show sometime in OCT!!!! I have an endocrinologist appt on the 16th so :fingerscrossed: he can help me get AF and have a chance at getting a :bfp: finally... ttc for almost 5months without o'ing makes it difficult to be successful

Hi Girls!

I will be testing in November too!! AF arrived yesterday which means (all going well) i will be testing on around the 8th of November. :yelclap:

It feels sooooo long away doesnt it?

Lucky for me i'm on annual leave from yesterday until the 10th November, so will try and do lots of things to take my mind off the whole process. Either that or i will be spending way too much time on BH

Look foward to sharing 'the month' with you all.

I to will be testing in Nov. My 32nd birthday is on the 6th so wouldn't that be a nice present. Here is a question for y'all, so many people say that the ovulated on one particular day, how do you know the exact day? I date my ovulation by mucus and that happens over a few days. Good luck and hope someone can help.

temping and ovulation predictor kits!! thats how these clever ladies know when its all happened. im too lazy for temping tho...it'd send me up the bloody wall. just something else to over analyze!

o0o0 im not meant to be apart of this thread lol but i feel chatty.

Why arent you meant to be part of this thread Michaswonderland?

Truckette - i used the temp method to calculate ovulation. Ovulation prediction kits are great if you have fairly regular cycles, but as i did not i used the temp method as it is the only method that shows that you definitely 'o'd.

Wow! There's quite a few of us having to wait until Nov to test. Lets all keep each other in the loop with how we all go!. :fingerscrossed: for each and everyone of us!!!

Strangefruit- what exactly is temping about?? Is it as expensive as ovulation predictor kits?
I ovulate reguarly, but seem to be having longer cycles now that i'm off the pill, which means that i ovulate later, so not always 100% sure when......

Bring on lots and lots of :bfp: for November!!!

Hi Hopingtobeamummy,

Temping only costs as much as the thermometer that you buy! (mine was $14.95)

So basically what happens is this:

You take your temperature every morning (i did it orally, although some very 'serious' tempers will do it vaginally) at exactly the same time (1/2 hour can make a difference to your temp so it is important that it is the same time every day). The trick is though that you have to take your temperature the second that you wake up. You are not allowed to move, talk, drink etc as this will change you temperature.

Record your temperature on a piece of paper (as you may fall back asleep and then forget  )

If you like you can then graph your temperatures so you can see a 'visual' of what is happening with your temps.

Make sure you buy a digital thermometer. If possible get one with 2 decimal points, but mine only had one and that was ok.

When you get AF your temperature plummets down so for example my temp when AF arrived was 36.0 (my temp was always lower than most girls - dont know why, so yours may start a bit higher than this).

It would then hover around 36.0 - 36.2 until ovulation time. The day after ovulation your temp will spike up at least 0.3 or 0.4 degrees. So mine would go to 36.4 or 36.5 when i ovulated. The trick is the temperature needs to stay at at least this level for 3 days. If it does not, and it drops down a little bit it means that your body attempted to ovulate but for some reason it didnt happen (this will show as a positive on an OPK or Maybe Baby). If it stays high it means that you did ovulate, and then what ever your normal range is between ovualtion and AF is you can calculate from there. So the date that there is a spike in your temp count as 1DPO.

This method is NOT good to calculate when to have sex as you only know after you ovulate. However for me it was good because then i never got my hopes up when AF was late, because i knew exactly when i had ovulated. It also is great because i knew exactly what day i would get AF. Plus, it also confirmed to me that i definitely was ovulating.

Gosh, I hope all of this makes sense!! Feel free to PM me if you have more questions.

How long has everyone been TTC for?

I forgot to add:

About a week before AF was due my temp would spike again to about 36.7

If you are going to get AF then about a day or 2 before AF is due to arrive your temp will start going down (mine would go to 36.4, 2 days before then 36.3 one day before then back to 36.0 on the actual day)

If however you are pregnant, you temp will stay high, past the date your AF was due, in fact women who are pregnant may even experience an additional temp spike.

(unfortunately i never experienced this :( )
