Hi all

Have a weird breathing question for everyone...
My DD has started breathing funny in the last few days. Every so often she will scrunch up her nose and breath quite fast through her nose. She doesn't appear to be short of breath or anything, looks quite hilarious when she does it. But I am just wondering ifit is normal ?

Is it like she's really excited? My DS does this ALL the time - it's a little embarrassing when we are out in public. Sometimes it sounds a little like his nose is blocked but it isn't.

A friend who works in childcare told me lots of kids do it.

My daughter (9months) does this and she thinks it is hilarious.

It is mostly when I'm getting her undressed/dressed, she hates this. she almsot seems cranky, but she stops after a few seconds. Bizarre. It sounds like her nose is blocked. I find myself trying to supress a laugh when she does it, Is that bad :D  i don't want to encourage her to do it if she thinks it will jsut make me giggle

I also have a breathing related question I need some help with...
my seven month old somtimes sounds like she is having trouble breathing, we have been to various doctors who have said they are not worried but when you are kept up for a few hours a night by a bub who seems to be weezing in the next room its quite stressfull, i dont feel i can ignor it cos if somthing happened then i would obviously feel awfull. Her dad has asthma and although i know doctors wont diagnose untill older i am not sure what to do. has any one else had this problem and what would u suggest i do??? (all input greatly apprecated!)

a similar thing happpened to DD at 5 months (now 6.5months). Saw her GP ( pediatric trained - a big plus ) who said bub sometimes has a sensitive airway, she has bronchitis, and will probably have it till after winter... BUT a few things that help with her are FESS nasal spray ( I do it just before she goes to bed and when she gets up in the morning) ventolin via a spacer if she gets really bad (but i've only had to do this once). My family has a strong history of asthma, but she can't get asthma as such until she develops an immune system. The good thing with the FESS, is you can make it up yourself after the bottle is empty, and its only saline, so even if it doesnt help, it can't any harm because it isnt a medication.
hope this helps:hugs:
