I stopped taking the contraceptive pill about 5 months ago and since stopping seem to be having very long cycles. I haven't missed a period once, but my cycles are now around 44-45 days!!

I have read on some sites on google that its normal and that it can take up to 9 months for a person to go back to regular 28-32 day cycles, but just wanted to know if anyone else has experienced this sort of thing after stopping the pill. If so, how long did it take you to go back to a 'normal' cycle length?

While it's nice to have long breaks between periods, its also making it frustrating with my getting-pregnant journey! :banghead:

I have between 36 and 45 day cycles too. It took 11 months to get my cycle back and then i had a miscarriage which put everything out of whack again. So am still trying to get back to 28-30 days!

Good luck, I hope you don;t have as much trouble as I have had...:)

 Foxygirl,

Well, it's nice to hear that i'm not the only one who has long cycles.

When it's all over the place, it makes it a bit hard to know when you would be ovulating and best times to get pregnant. I've been trying to watch my CM and any signs of ovulation pain.

Hopefully it won't take too long for my period to regulate again and hopefully sometime soon i will get the BFP :flowerz:
