hello all,

thinking about buying a bumbo baby sitter. i had a look and they say suitable from 3 months to 14 months depending on childs developement. my DD is just 3months old and i want to know if it will be safe. does it cause any problems or does it actually help development?

I have one and it is my most favorite thing ever! They are recommended by paediatricians.
it was worth every cent and i take it everywhere. I use it at MIL on a dining chair, for meals, at the beach in the sand, at the washing line.....etc.

My Daughter is 7 months and has been using it since 3 months and she is developing perfectly fine.

Good luck.

If you want to see a bumbo in action check out You Tube,,actually my daughter is in hers in my avatar pic.

I found it to be great, a portable highchair, I took it everywhere! DS was in one from about 13wks and loved it because he could see everything. As for safety i found I had to take DS out of it bout 7 mths coz his feet could reach the floor and he would push and lift it up.
A good buy!

Do your research as some people are dead against them :) (no idea why!!! - i'm sure others will be happy to expand!!)

Some of the best money Dh and I spent was on our beloved Bumbo plus Try.
We used it right up untill the point were she could get out of it herself then we had to start using the highchair.
So We got a good solid every day use out of it for 9 months.

DD loved the bumbo.

ALTHOUGH - she was a bit slow to sit by herself - she was crawling way before she could actually sit up properly, and I have always wondered if it had anything to do with the bumbo... anyway, if the bumbo did affect it she's fine now, and I managed to sell the bumbo on ebay for almost the same price for which I bought it, so it was basically free!

the best thing i ever bought! it helped DD strengthen her back and helped her sit up on her own, even when not in the bumbo seat. it was also good as a portable highchair and just to have somewhere safe to put her while dealing with my DS. i gave it to a friend to borrow for her bubba as my DD started to get out of it. but even my 2 year old was able to sit in it LOL. if DD wasnt able to get out of it, i'd be still using it now...

that bumbo seat went everywhere with us. they are awesome and would recommend to anyone.

One of the best things we bought too. DS met all his milestones smack ontime or a little early. We still use ours as a booster seat when we go out to dinner at friends places/restaurants  Infact I have got most of my use from using it as a booster chair

I love it, though we have to use the tray with it now, as DS leans forward to grab his toes and looks like he'll fall out. Whether he would or not isn't the point... the tray is about $15 and is fantastic and helps when they're big enough for rusks too :D

I had one for my son too and I did love it. However PLEASE be careful not to put them on a high surface. I used to put my little boy in it on the bench when I was making dinner so he could be at my height. I turned around for two seconds and he reached to get something on the bench and flipped out of the seat. LUCKILY he landed on the bench and not the floor!!!. He was only 7 months old so it doesnt take much for them to fall out.
