Anyone Heard of a Retroflexed or Retroverted utuerus

Hi There,

I went to see someone today that specialises in chinese herbal medicine and accupuncture and found out that I have a Retroflexed utuerus. DH also has a low sperm count. Anyway they want us to take herbs and have accupuncture and they said that it could take up to 3 months. I am desperate to get a BFP sooner rather than later.

Anyone have any advise.

Yeah, retroverted uterus just means that the top of the uterus is tilted backwards instead of the normal fowards ie towards the belly. Its pretty common (1 in 4 women) and doesnt cause any fertility problems.

I have one and have never had fertility problems, I concieved DS1 on the pill and DS2 within a week of trying with DH.

Your uterus will tip back in normal position after the first 15-20 weeks of pregnancy due to the weight and pressure from the baby, it didn't hinder my pregnancy or birth of my boys in any way. It may just be difficult in the first 12 weeks for any pregnancy scans you need, I had to have internal ultrasounds, but they are not as scary or bad as people make them out to be.

It never caused any fertility issues for me. If it was me I would be thinking the specialist in herbs and acupuncture was just out to make $$$ off of me rather than actually out to really help as a retroverted uterus will not cause any fertility problems.
