hi Ladies, just wanting to know roughly around wot age do bubs start crawling? i know every bubs is different.
My DD started crawling at 9 months, and you are right they are all different. Some bubs may not crawl at all and just go straight into walking.
My DS started crawling at around 7.5mths. My nephew was just 5mths when he started crawling.
I think the 'normal' age is around 7 - 8mths...
all my kids were around 8-9months (from memory)
my older two were crawling at around 6 months
my six month old is preparing to crawl now
Most babies would be crawling by 9 months.
When I saw the Paediatrician for my DD's 6 mth checkup, he said that he wouldn't expect to see a baby crawling til 9mths, but accepts that some babies do it earlier.
My DD started to crawl at 7.5mths.

My DS started crawling a week before he turned 6 months. He is the only one out of the babies in my mothers group (all the same age, give or a take a week) who is crawling so I guess that suggests he crawled early (gosh, I feel like I am bragging reall badly, but I didn't intend to). My mum said I crawled and walked early and I have heard that the parents development can sometimes be reflected in the timing of their children's milestones. I'm not sure how accurate that it, maybe we just try and make the connection...
Hey, if they crawl early, the havoc just starts earlier!

i reckon it has more to do with whether your bub likes being on his tummy or not.
as soon as my DS figured out how to roll over, he was on his tummy every chance he got. crawling from there is not too much of a leap. he's been crawling for about a month now. although he's not very good at it, he doesn't fall down, but he is slow.
but if your bub hates being on their tummy, then crawling will probably take longer. mostly becaue they don't get in the postion to want to try.
don't worry too much, all babies learn eventually. even if it doesn't seem that way.
DS1 was 7 months (to the day) and DS2 was 6.5 months. I think every kid is unique and will go for it when they're ready - enjoy it while you can still put them down and come back to them in the same spot!!!;)

DD started crawling when she was exactly 7 months old. A week later she was pulling up and a few weeks after that she was cruising around furniture.
DD's been pretty early in everything she's done..except that. She was just average there...but I think it's because she's heavy so it must be more difficult for her to move around. She also seemed quite happen spinning around in circles on her tummy and army crawling...one day she just went off and crawled...I now wish she wouldn't! lol.

Claire just started crawling about a week ago. She turned 7 months old yesterday. Now we can't stop her! :D
Claire was able to hold her head up really well from birth & I think this may have a lot to do with her being able to do a lot of physical things early. She sat completely unsupported from just before 5 months, although could do it for a few seconds from around 3 months. She rolled over regularly from about 2 months. She has always been able to bear weight on her legs & can walk holding onto our hands. She's been able to do this also from only about 2.5/3 months old. She has also been able to stand holding onto furniture etc for some time, although she's not pulling up yet.
PS - Claire never liked being on her tummy, except if I had a rolled up towel beneath her, so I don't know if enjoying tummy time has much to do with it.
