Hi thereI want to start TTC this month or next but I haven't had my rubella innoculation yet. Does anyone know how long do you have to wait after having it before TTC?and also just wanted some advice on what everyone thinks the best pre-conception vitamins are. Has anybody used those Blackmores Concieve Gold or Vitex?
I cant aswer the part about vitamins, but it is usual to wait 3 months after a jab before ttc otherwise some of the virus can still be present in your body.

Hi Starkissed :)
I had my rubella immunity checked before TTC and had to have a booster and was told not to TTC for three months. If I remember correctly they use a live virus in the innoculation and if you conceive to soon after there is a risk the baby will contract rubella, the possible problems from this are things such as blindness so I waited the three months. Also with your conception vitamins it helps to take them for a few months before you TTC so your levels are already higher, I used the Blackmores pregnancy gold as they didn't have the conception ones and they were good, a friend has used the conception ones and liked them.
Good luck!
Do you know you are not immune to rubella? Might pay to have it checked first before getting the jab. But yeah, if you decide you need it, they say 3 months....so I would wait 4 :)
It is good to have 100 days of folic acid pre TTC, I like the Blackmores pregnancy and breastfeeding. You could take that and Vitex :)
Good luck TTC
