Try local chemists. Many of them do piercing.

 sorry i can't agree NCB...chemists only use the gun and the gun is the dirtiest thing out there.
i would go to a reputable body piercer that uses only single use/sterile needles. this ensures the hole is clean and straight, with the utter most minimal chance of infection. they also give you a good aftercare plan.
also, on another point, @ 2yrs old your child's ears aren't full size yet so there is a chance where the holes are now (at the bottom of the lobe) will move as she grows (happened to my mum). they might end up in the middle of the lobe.

Hell No to using a gun. Go to a reputable piercer.

I don't remember where she specified what she would rather use, so I suggested something.

OK then - go to Exotic Piercing in Northbridge for a sterile environment, great work and lovely piercers.
NOR there are quite a few places to get piercings. Abandoned Art in Wanneroo is really good though too.

I too would recommend going and speaking to a professional piercer. Not a teenager that works in a chemist with no proper training or experience.
You will then not only get a good job done but it will be done in a sterile way..

no one is having a go at you NCB...just stating that the chemist was not a good idea.

Okay, definitely felt like it.
Anyway, like I said, she didn't specify what method of piercing she was going to use.

I agree she asked a question and you answered what harm is there in that
I agree about using a reputable piercer. 10 years ago i got my second hole done at a local chemist, i had had no problems with the first holes that had been done at one as a child so didnt think to do anything different.
10 years later i have just pulled my earrings out of the second hole and am letting them close up after constant infections, one hole closing within hours of me taking earrings out for the night (and having to continuously force my stud back in), and also because the only earrings ive ever been able to wear in those holes were a particular pair of studs that were so old they needed to be replaced and my ears didnt appreciate the change.

a teenager in a chemist has experience and training. as it is illegal to pierce without a certificate.
Beauty salons also do it as they are required to do this certificate with there beauty training.
Another thing to take into account is most places will most likely pierce both ears at the same time for kids under 5 years.. this is where guns are easier as its straight in and straight out.

You can also get two piercers to pierce the ears at the same time. Straight in, straight out.

the qualifications that those in a chemist or beauty salon is not as extensive and involved as the ones that the professional piercers have to get. guns may seem easier but its forcing a blunt object into soft cartilage....if my kids ever ask for piercing, i would take them to a REAL piercer that has had REAL training, where they do it PROPERLY with a needle.

THanks for all the info, I will give a few people a call and see what they say.
I have been to the one in northbridge before so I know they are great.
I also want to add thankyou for not going nuts at me for even considering it, I posted in another forum site and no one answered my question just told me how wrong it is.
You ladies are great:goodvibes:

Yep this is what I did for my girls. Great idea!
Try your local tattoo parlour too, they usually have a piercer there, I know my one I go to only uses the needle though.

I'd love to get my DD's ears done as I think it would be better for her then waiting until she's older. DH doesn't like hte idea too much though.
Does anyone know of places that do 2 piercers at the same time? I may talk to him again about getting it done if I can get it done that way.

I've done peircing all over perth and i have never peirced little girls ears one at atime, most place will do both, but then most places will do this way with a gun. again its a personal preferance guns v needles.
