First Reponse HPT

Hi All, I am currently in the 2WW. I am due for AF next Wednesday and I have 3 first response tests sitting at home waiting for me to use! We are TTC our second baby and I have been getting a few symptoms similar to my previous pregnancy ie pulling, pinching pains, headaches, fatigue so as you can imagine am too impatient to wait to find out if its a BFP. My question is when was the earliest you got a BFP with the first response tests. It says thay can detect HCG as early as 5 days before your period. Did anyone get a positive that early??

Hey wannabmum,

I'm currently in the 2WW too. Although I'm IVF, my BT isn't til Tuesday.

I've used FR HPT's and gotten BFN's before and they have been stark white, no doubt they have all been BFN's.

This time around I tested early because I cant help myself and got a faint BFP at 9DPO:yes:, so 5 days before AF, today I re-tested and got a strong BFP at 11DPO, now I have to wait til BT to confirm.

There are lots of women who dont get BFP's show this early so dont stress if it's - early on. They say they are 99% accurate but thats only after AF is due. I think it's something like 40% accurate 5 days before AF.

Congratulation Kema and thanks for the reply. I will try and hold off a couple of days before sneaking a test but I dont like my chances I am just too impatient. All the best with your BT on Tuesday and a smooth pregnancy over the next 8 months!! That is fabulous news for you!!

Funny thing is I just expected it to be a BFN. :laughing:

Now I'm kicking myself that I tested so early coz I have to wait so long for confirmation!!

I'm impatient too...I have a POAS addiction! :o

Kema it's sounding really promising. When I did IVF, I held off until the day before the BT. I got a BFP on a home test, but still wasn't sure. When I went for the BT the next day, the nurse said that the HPT would have been accurate, even before she took my blood. BT confirmed I was pg. I hope it's the same for you. Sounding very good.

I had a natural FET and didnt have any LP support, so I know it's a legit BFP, I keep peeing on sticks and they are all positive and get darker each day..I just hope my levels are nice and high..and it's a sticky little one!
