Full or empty

Hi,

Just wondering if any of you know the answer to this question. I feed DD and she attaches really well and sucks very effectively. But after a while she starts to hurt my nipple more than normal. Is it because she has emptied my breast or s she getting lazy at sucking?

You might need a little fine tunning with your attachment, it sound like she is slipping off a little. Be careful of your posture throughout the feed and make sure she is facing you with her nose facing the nipple so her chin digs into the breast (taking more of the areola with the lower jaw )as she open her mouth to attach and held close with her spine straight. Have a look to see if her bottom lip is curled out and try to notice if she is poking her touge out just as she latches on?

My bub can be a lazy sucker sometimes. He has and always has had a really strong suction on my breast but over the last month (he's 4 1/2 months) he has gotten a bit lazy and pulls himself down the nipple so he only has to suck there. If this happens, I start to get a sore nipple.:p
