So i started a thread before about not feeling bub's movements spoke to my MW and went in for a check up.. everything is fine (see other thread)
I wanted to start this to get some thoughts on what this all could mean... something... or nothing....while there we discovered...
While there I was having some serious Braxton hicks which were picked up on the monitor….. I'm still having them. I'm about to go have a bath and see if that settles them... my MW says this should make them go away” if” they are just Braxton’s… but she said it could be the start of something…. So now I'm even more anxious then was I was….. Also bub’s head is engaged and I'm feeling rather tender in that area….. I'm starting to feel period type pains…… I was induced with both my girls so I'm not too sure if this could be something…. Maybe I should be getting my bag packed???
I have no freakin idea, but I would pack my bags just incase! :yelclap: for you if it is the start of something!

I've never had braxton hicks but my labour pains felt like the worst period pain ever so if you are starting to feel like that might be best to get yourself prepared to go to hospital just in case!
If you are in labour...I am soooo jealous!:hissy:
I have no idea either...but yes-pack your bags!!

Well I have no idea either...
I’ve just had a bath and still seem to be getting strong Braxton hicks.... they are tight and uncomfortable with a little period type pain but nothing to serious..... (They have been going since around 7 ish do Braxton’s go that long anyway:eek:
so I’ve decided to take some panadol go to bed …..If I can sleep... if they get worse I will pack a bag and go from there...
Far out!! I bet this is going to be on those pregnancies were this will happen on and off till bub’s makes it’s entrance!
Bub’s only 36 weeks so we need bub to stay put a few more weeks….:fingerscrossed: And if bub’s comes now I won’t get that water birth I’ve been dreaming of!!
also something both my partner an i were born around 36 weeks..... EKKKK
Im just ranting now to take my mind off it all!!

Sounds like you may be in early stages of labour. It could start and stop for a few days but I would definitely pack a bag just in case.
I had the same thing at 36 weeks with DS1 and BH kicked off labour for me.
I hope you get your water birth but be prepared for bub to arrive sooner rather than later.
I hope you get some rest in any case.

You're in labour mate!!! I had the same thing....had a bath and they continued! Midwife said that if they continue then they're the real deal!
Hopefully we shouldn't hear from you today ;)

:)Good luck with whateva is happening.
I dont know whether you are in labour or not as I had this for the last 3-4 weeks with all 3 of our bubs. The braxton hicks were almost constant for me in those last few weeks.
Has anyone heard any news? I'm curious to find out if she was in real labour or not!

Sounds like prelabour to me.... as opposed to either BH or "real" labour.
BH are not supposed to have period type pain with them, nor should they be going on for longer than an hour or so.
Even with 4 weeks to go, you can still be in prelabour off and on for a couple of weeks (or more!) before labour actualy establishes.
Good luck!!!! And yes.... PACK YOUR BAGS! LOL

Well... no baby yet!! Thank goodness in away as I’m totally not ready....i will be doing some bag packing tonight thou now…
I have spent all night with these Braxton’s on and off, some waking me up some not....
All day today same thing... and some getting painful but nothing to serious I think it's just my body getting ready and like some of you said this could go on for a few weeks yet.....
Isn’t the most common sign is losing your mucus plug? Or is that something that happens to some but not others.....
I have noticed more and a little thicker discharge too... more than normal anyway... could be all related??( tmi sorry)

Dunno bout the plug. When I went into labour it sort of followed it's own schedule. I lost my waters early a.m. and that was my only sign until about 7hours later when the period pains started up. No mucous plus that I could notice, so I think it must have come out in the loo or something.
Loosing the plug is a common sign, but it doesnt happen for everybody at the beginning of labour. For both of mine i didnt lose it until i was 9cm, and by then i was well aware i was in labour...
I also had really strong braxton hicks with DD1, it was worse than early labour, and would strike me with no warning and last for hours. You are almost due though, so ring the middy if you get concerned it could be the real deal.

I lost my mucous plug 3 weeks b4 my waters broke. And as somebody else said it came out when I was on the loo, so there is really no guarentee of when you are actually in labour unless a baby comes out at some stage:D
