Sorry, this probably won't make much sense as I am in serious pain! I am having really bad shooting pains in the lower left hand side of my belly every three minutes or so :crying:

I am due to give birth in 9 days and I don't know if this should be cause for concern or not? The pain is so bad, I can't talk or move during them. It doesn't feel like contractions (I don't have the tightening or anything) and it is just in the one side.

I guess I'm just asking if this is normal? Could it be labour?

It could be pre-labour pains?

I would give the hospital a call. It doesnt hurt to be extra cautious at that stage of pregnancy.

:fingerscrossed: everything is fine and you in labour. :smiliedance:

I would also give the hospital a call. You can never be too cautious and you have nothing to lose.

Best of luck

I would say you are starting labour. I started getting bad pains in my right side last Sunday night and had my new baby boy on Wednesday afternoon just gone. Mine didnt feel like labour pains either, just a stabbing pain. Hope all goes well for you. wont be long by the sounds of things

I agree with what the others have said, give the hospital a call, it can't hurt to be a little cautious. :fingerscrossed: & good luck.

Most definently give the hospital a call...Dont forget that all that is written in books about labour isnt the same for everyone...Everyone is different and your labour pains may be different to anything u have read...

Goodluck

Thanks everyone for your replies, I have just got off the phone to the hospital (they took ages to call me back) and they said that it should be ok and not to worry. Apparently pains like this are normal. Oh well, I'll see what happens I guess.
