In your honest opinion what would you buy if you could afford any MCN for day use??

I am feeling a bit deflated with using MCN as they often seem to leak. The brands I have are:

Blueberry
Kanga
BB Magic-alls
Bum genius AIO
Bum genius fitteds with woolies
Monkeydoodlez
Cheeky Butts

and a few others

But I find they all leak - some more then others!

Am I doing something wrong or is there a FANTASTIC OSFM nappy that I haven't seen yet?!

Please help - before the Nappy hunt finishes!!!

i was going to say Blueberry but you have these? i have put an extra booster in mine as my son is a wee machine!! maybe try that? same with the Baby Kanga, mine has a microfibre and a bamboo insert and doesnt leak.

of the ones you've listed, i use the below as short-term nappies only (about one hour):
Bum genius AIO
Monkeydoodlez

i havent tried the others.

I think that sized nappies tend to work best (esp with boys) I used Green kids on DD and they were good, but just didn't work on DS.

Itti Bitti D'lish (with snap in boosters) are best for us. Then we also us the newer BBH magicalls with the pocket and bamboo booster. the older style ones only last an hour or 2, great for between bath and bed.

Blueberry - Never used
Kanga - Never Used
BB Magic-alls - Old style, not so great, new ones, esp minkees are good for us
Bum genius AIO - hmmm, OK, not the best as velcro comes undone easily by roaming fingers
Bum genius fitteds with woolies - not used - are your woolies well lanolised??
Monkeydoodlez - Never worked well for us
Cheeky Butts - ALWAYS leaked, even when boosted.

Try not to be discouraged, as I have also tried some of those brands without success. You really do get what you pay for to some extent with MCN. It's rare for my DS to have anything other than an itti or magicall pocket on. At night KK's are working well. Waiting for the itti night, as i have high hopes for it.

Thanks ladies- maybe I need to look into more sized nappies - was just trying to get away with OSFM so I don't need to keep buying!! Not that I mind shopping

I personally love greenkids and mandy mac fitteds with either a wool cover or a baby beehinds pul. You also can't go past Baby beehinds bamboo fitteds.
You may have a heavy wee-er on your hands in which case you may need to boost the nappies you have. Also look out for bamboo, it is by far the most absorbent material you will find for MCN's....so this may help you decide what else to try.
Also, how are you washing them?? If you are using too much detergent or any fabric softeners this can effect the absorbency of your nappies too.

If they are pockets try adding a microfibre plus bamboo combo

If they are fitteds try adding a bamboo booster, and make sure your woolies are well lanolised

Maybe do a strip wash, and use less detergent on your regular washes

My son is just a little younger than yours, & I also wanted OSFA for money value. I've found Bonnibuns ones are fantastic! I have quite a few of those & have never had a leak. I also use her night ones.

I haven't tried any of the brands you have so can't comment on those, but I also love my med itti bittis & med cgr's.

I've found it was a lot of trial & error, cause what works for 1 baby, might not work for yours.

IMO itti bitti is the best nappy brand. For both their fitteds and AIOs.

It coudl just be a phase that your boy is going through- often I find that I love some nappies that are my favs and then in a few months I don't like them as they don't seem to perform so well on my ds.

I would second the itti bittis- they are great for naps with my heavy wetter.

Look for nappies with bamboo for extra absorbency. I hav heard that wild child daydreamers (fitteds) are great for daytime heavy wee-ers. Never tried myself..

You can get extra boosters for your magicalls which may be worth trying.

Maybe you could try swapping your nappies in the swap section so as not to spend too much money..

i have a heavy wetter and i can only get about 2 hours out of an itti dlish. i havent boosted one yet so i dont know how much more i could get out of it but the wildchild daydreamers AIO are excellent for heavy wetters for daytime....i love them and they are my favourite nappies performance wise. i really like ittis for the fit and cuteness but i just wish they would be more absorbant....i think all kids are different though, most people love them.

for night time, wildchild dreamy nights are good too, as well as krap katchers and i also love bubblebubs GNST. they work really well on my heavy wetter.

tried monkey doodles and blueberry and are not great for heavy wetters. havent tried the others....last one i dont want to try...*cough*

i hated the magicalls when they first came out but now with the pocket and the bamboo booster, i really like them for a daytime nappy...
