Hi Girls,
I just found this website as I wanted to find a playgroup in the Wattle Grove area. Have any of you started up a playgroup or found one that you like? Thanks in advance. :)
Hi Ladies,
I'm a 32 year old first time Mum to an 8 week old little boy and we live in Moorebank. I have been wanting to join a Mothers group to make friends and have a chat over a coffee. Is there anything out there ??
Kelly
Hi girls,
Just for your info. I live in the wattle grove area and I know the Wattle Grove Neighbourhood centre has a playgroup for 0 - 1 yr olds on Thursdays @ 1pm - 3pm and they have a morning group for toddlers aged approx 1 - 3 on Mondays at 10am - 12pm. The get a good turn out for the Monday group and they are always looking for new members for the baby group. Its worth a look my little girl loves it. This group is free of charge and it is a great bunch of girls. For this group the contact is Sue on (02) 98252575
Also the other group at Wattle Grove behind the tennis courts is on Fridays at about 10.30am. This group has set activities such as arts and crafts and sing alongs etc. I have just made contact with them this week as I would love to get my little girl involved in a more structured playgroup. From memory this group cost $35 per year. The contact for this group is Renee I will chase up her number on monday and post it.
:)

Hey everyone,
I live in Wattle grove. My father is ex-army but have lived in the area for a while.
I am a SAHM to Kaelan (who is 1 on the 30th April) and pregnant with #2 on september 25th.
I don't really know anyone in the area with kids, but would love to chat or catch up if interested?
The playgroups sound interesting too.

Hello All
I am also in a similar situation - living in Wattle Grove, husband at Holsworthy & now have a little man at home, only 2.5 weeks old. As my friends & family are interstate I'm also looking to establish some networks out this way & am interested in joining a mother's group etc.
Kristy - thanks for the info on the Community Centre, that's awesome.
Has there been any other groups started yet ladies?
Look forward to meeting some of you in the near future,
Bec

My story is the same so count me in. Have a little girl who is 5 months and would love her to meet up with some babies her own age or thereabouts.
Think i will give the community centre a go tomorrow.
Think i also had better update my profile
tankgirl - (love that movie haha)
My boy is now 13.5 months & am 25 weeks pregnant with #2.
I tried the playgroup at wattle grove centre on wednesday but couldnt committ to it as so many things kept coming up..soo annoying :( and there were not many kids around his age - they seemed to be alot older
We tend to take him to the local park or the one for little kiddies down at Georges hall where he plays with other little kiddies. He LOVES kids and always smiles and laughs whenever he sees kids wherever we go - so cute!

Im TTC in Wattle Grove.
Can anyone provide me with a good doctor to see when I BFP?
hey tr1na,
I see Dr Stanford in labuan road. He is by FAR better than going to the medical centre.
You have to pay to see him, but if you are registered to your details through medicare the money will get depositied back into your account within 2 days.
I do know he does look after people right throughout their pregnancies, but with my 2 i have seen a OB/GYN - Dr Hammill - who is FANTASTIC..i cannot rave more about him either.
:) If you need any more details let me know
Good luck TTC!!!!
Hey, Im now 6 weeks pregnant. :-)
I found a nice doctor at the hammondville medical centre. He seems ok and he bulk bills so Im happy. Dr Stanford was not available when I wanted the appointment. :-(
But its ok. Let me know what hospital you go to and if its a good one. :-)
Thanks heaps
tr1na, congrats!!!!!
Are you going public or private?
Quite a few of my friends have gone public at Liverpool Public - they all say its quite good and have not had any major problems there :)
I am going Private (This is my 2nd bub) at Liverpool Private Hospital and have a private obstetrician - Dr Hammill.
Im not sure yet, but I think I might get a doula.
Basically I just want to be able to give birth in any position I feel comfortable in... so basically I just want to wander the room and figure it out when the time comes. Im not sure how flexible liverpool hospital is, I think I might need to go private?
Im quite excited. This is my first child. The fact Im going to be a mummy is yet to sink in, and I just want it to hurry up as well. I know of Dr Hammil actually, but I do not know any other ob's.
Let me know how livo private is :)

Hey Tr1na - Congrats on the great news! I believe Campbelltown Private is pretty good too. I can absolutely recommend North Shore Private Hospital but it is a journey when you are in labour (especially when you are stuck in trafffic in the M5 tunnel )
Hey Robiain - hope all is going well, not long now!
Cheers

I believe Campbelltown Private is pretty good too.
c'town does not have a maternity section so no bubs :(
sister had both her girls at private hospital in liverpool and both births were fantastic.
liverpool public personally i will never go too.
I agree liverpool private is just lovely. I am not sure what they are like with labour as i was induced with a drip so had to stay in bed - which i didn't mind.
They also don't think have facilities for water births either - if thats what you were looking for?
Tankgirl - thanks, i am doing really well..can't believe i only have 8 weeks to go ..EEK

Congratulations tr1na! How exciting for you!
I had my little man at Liverpool Public 8.5 weeks ago, and had a fantastic experience. I wanted a natural birth, and wasn't able to due some complications during labour. The staff supported our decisions every step of the way & let us re-assess things as we needed.
We also did the parent education classes through them, and we've gained friends & a support group through that. I also had enormous problems breastfeeding once he arrived and 8.5 weeks later am still receiving excellent support from the lactation consultant their.
But after saying all of that, I too had heard mixed reports before I went there. Wherever you choose to go, I wish you a wonderful experience!
Robiain - thanks for the tip about Dr Stanford. I've not had the best experiences up at the medical centre myself.
Justbellasmum - Welcome! I'm in Wattle Grove, and would be keen for a catch up with a group too.
Hope you're all well :)
Randomlee - congrats on the birth of harrison!! I am so glad you had a good experience at liverpool public. All the people i know that have had their babies there have had a good experience too.
Dr Stanford is great - i have had some VERY bad experiences with some of the doctors at the medical centre, but some of them are ok. If i have any concerns with Kaelan i will always take him to see Dr stanford - and even if he is fully booked, if you have a major concern, he will always fit you in.. Kaelan once came up in a red rash overnight and i rang them and they said to come in straight away. They also fit me in when i was having a m/c too.
Catchup - I am due in 8 weeks, but would love to catch up before then if u guys are all keen??

I don't mind where :)
That sounds good!! Gives me an excuse to go in there as i need to visit medicare sometime next week anyway :)
there is a really nice Cafe on the bottom floor hear JB hi-fi if that sounds ok?
The only way to keep my son busy is with food :( otherwise he is a bit of a nightmare.
He wakes up about 12:30 - whats bella's sleep times like?

Hi girls -
Sorry I haven't replied sooner, had some family visit from overseas which has kept us busy.
I haven't yet made a catch up or mother's group, but am going to try the WG Community Centre tomorrow - if anyone else is interested, it's from 1-3pm I think, and it will be my first visit.
Otherwise I'm really flexible for other catch ups, so let me know when everyone's feeling better & we should definitely organise something instead of just talking about it :)
Hope to catch up soon,
Bec

Just a quick update from us - made it to the mums & bubs group last week at WG & thought it was great. All the mums were absolutely lovely, and there were all the toys laid out on the floor for the little ones to play with. Harrison was intrigued by all the new faces, and I really enjoyed chatting with some other mums - adult conversation during the day, watch out! :)
Robiain - thanks again. We had a visit with Dr Stanford this morning and he was fantastic. Harrison has a cold, so no mums & bubs group today, but I found the doctor to be great with the little man as well as me.
Any more thoughts on a catch up?
Bec
Bec- glad you had a good time at playgroup! and glad you had a good experience with Dr stanford too..its nice to know there is a doc that actually cares.
Meet...YES we do need to do that. I was supposed to meet with Katie but we got sick for 2 weeks, but would love to make another time before bubs is born - which is not too far away.
I have spoken to the doc and i am on weekly appointments now (i am 36 weeks) and he says i have a 'decent' sized baby?! Now i am paranoid its going to be HUGE.. anyway.. we discussed that at my (almost) 39 week appointment on the 15th sept if i have not gone already that he will book me in to be induced a few days later YEY
Hope you are all well xoxo

Hey there,
I just read your previous thread that said something about a play group on Thursdays for 0-1 year olds. I have a little 8 week old and am only 21 and none of my friends have kids so I am looking to meet some new friendly faces in the Liverpool Area. Is Sue the contact for this time slot? Thanks heaps!
I am in Casula, if anyone knows of any mothers groups around this area it would be much appreciated. I am in desperate need of getting out of the house and making some new friends! I have an 8 week old girl Matilda.
Hi ladies
I am in Wattle Grove & have a 4 month old son & would love to meet some ladies with bubs. I am currently on maternity leave until February.
I am originally from Adelaide, whilst DH is a sydneysider. All of my friends back in Adelaide have either recently had babies or are expecting but my friends here in Sydney are older (due to DH being older than me) & have older children.
If anyone is interested in a catch up let me know! :D I keep thinking that I'm going to try to make it to the bubs group on Thursdays but haven't managed that yet - maybe one day I'll pull my finger out & get there!
Look forward to hopefully meeting some of you soon.

We have a South West Mummies group that often meets at campbelltown . . I from near bankstown and a few of the other mums are from revesby area and all about .. everyone is welcome anytime!!
For sure, anyone else who wants to come out to Campbelltown, we have a lovely group :D We have 2 12 week olds at the moment (one being mine :goodvibes:) and range up to school age! Its veeery casual, we meet up at least once a month, and are very understanding about not making it ;) It took me almost 3 months to be able to get to a meet with my DD - thanks to christmas, getting sick and then having no transport!
We usually meet up in either a park or at Macarthur Square, where the kids can play in the enclosed play areas. Oh, and our Mum's range in age too!!! Let me know if anyone else is interested - PM me, and I can pass on the details of next meet!
Hello All,
I tried to find a mothers group when I first had my little Matilda, but didn't really have much luck. Matilda is now 7 months old and I am 22. I am looking for a group of mums in the Casula/Liverpool area and would be happy to go to Campbelltown. Please let me know if anyone is keen. I am working full time, so something on a Saturday or Sunday morning would be ideal! Any mums around the same age would be great but I would love to catch up with anyone! Hope to hear from you all soon!
Laura.:)
Hello,
Just one thing also, if anyone was looking at putting there baby into care. I have foind the best childcare centre. It was such a daunting experience having to put my baby into care for 3 days a wekk at 5 months old. But this centre is fantastic and everyone is just so helpful and wonderful. It is brand new and has only been opened for 7 weeks. Its called NSW ACADEMY OF EARLY LEARNING and its located on PINE ROAD CASULA. It has fantastic facilities. They are taking enrolments all the time as it is still very new. Take my word for it and check it out if you are looking at care. Its AMAZING! :):). It has made my transition from being a full time mum on maternity leave to going abck to work full time so much easier!
