Don't they go if no-one has posted in them for a while???? maybe that is the case here????

If you go to the bottom of the index page, you can select how far back you want to read posts from- It is set default to threads from the last 30 days, and if there has been no new postings in this time period then they are hidden.
If you want to see all threads, set the time period 'from the beginning'
