Hi Gals,

I am so glad to find another Aussie forum :)

I am 25yo with two little kiddlies. Travis is 21mo and Lucy is 8wks. They were both born by c-section which I am still dealing with but am so glad I have two healthy happy babies.

I am finding parenting with two children under 2yo quite a challenge. I keep getting snowed under and find it difficult to keep up. This makes me go through times where I lose confidence in myself as a parent but my Mum is usually pretty good at making me feel better.

Travis has always been a handful and is currently into throwing toys as well as tantrums. He also likes to hit people (he thinks its fun) and yesterday hit me over the head with his wheelbarrow! Many people keep telling me its his age. If this isnt the terrible twos come early then I am VERY afraid!
Lucy is somewhat easier than Travis was at her age but the reflux is difficult to cope with sometimes. I am so over being spewd on! She smiles at me though so that makes it all worth it and between Travis' hypo moments he is so full of love, its really quite gorgeous.

I live out Armadale way in Western Australia with my boyfriend and our babies. We have only lived here since January and were very excited to buy our first home. We are slowly starting to meet people out this way. Making new friends has been alot easier since having Lucy as we have been meeting alot of people through New Parent Groups etc.

What else can I say about me?.... I dont really have any hobbies anymore because I dont have enough time. I used to play the piano and viola, and I used to like to do arty crafty things. When the kiddlies are a bit older I am sure I will get some more 'me' time. I find that at the moment, if I dont have expectations of being able to spend time on myself then I dont get frustrated when I cant, and when I can it then feels like a bonus. The time I do get at the moment is spent veging on the couch in the evenings watching telly.

Its hard but fun.

I will stop ranting now because I could go on and on and on otherwise.
Looking forward to getting to know you all.
Take care

Spiffy

Hi Spiffy,
Welcome to bub hub. You will find lots of experienced mothers on this site and we all love sharing our experiences and giving and/or asking for advice. Hope you get all the support and advice from us as you need. Try to take time out for yourself. I know it's hard but you need to recharge you batteries so you can be the best mum you can to your children. Even if it is for an hour, so you can have a shower and wash your hair or get onto us, hand the kids over to your partner and let him have some time alone with them. You'll feel better for it. Have fun with us.

Hi girls,

I was just surfing around & found Hub bub. I have been looking for a site where I can chat with new mum's & get advise from experienced mums too. Hubby & I have just moved from Kalgoorlie in WA to Mackay in Qld. We have a new bub, 3wks old, even though she was nameless for a couple of days, we settled on Emma Louise. Being a first time mum, I was terrorfied of what to expect, but I am so lucky that I have such a good baby. But I am partial!!!

I'm hoping to create a new circle of friends & I thought this might be a good place to start. Is there any other mum's around Mackay?
