Hi Bub hub moms and mom's to be.
I am trying to become a first time mom and I am trying for a girl.
I have reserched into everything short of artificial insemination and sperm spinning and have come up with the Shetles method. I was wondering if there is anyone els trying or have used this method to choose the sex of their baby?
I have been trying for 2 months now and I have to say that the amount of um "work" that you have to do befor ovulation is a bit taxing. My husband has to be made to go to the bedroom and preform his dutie. Wich is funny as I always thought that they couldn't have enough?
I have also read about diet having a posible influence on the sex as well (not the stories about suger for a girl and savoury for a boy)
Also has anyone had trouble pin pointing the their CM (cervical mucus) I was told that if you can't find the eggwhite concistacy that it may be hard for you to concive is this true?

Hi Taylor

There's heaps of threads on this forum on working out your o date as well as on the choosing sex ideas.

We wanted a girl this time and I bought the Shettles book and followed a couple of the ideas. I didn't do anything with my diet, or douching, but have been told that we have a girl. So, no, I don't think it is too hard - main thing is to bd before o for a girl and abstain during ovulation to lessen chances of a boy.

Check out the TTC threads to work out the best way to pin point your o date.

Good luck:fingerscrossed:

good luck with trying to conceive your baby girl ... I found this chinese birthchart for you. All you do is choose you age at time of conception and go to the month and it tells you whether the month is g ood for boys or girls.

As chinese years are about a year a two greater than our it pays to check out 2 years older than you are (just in case).

My sister swears by these charts and has found them to be extremely accurate with all of us and friends. It's less intrusive than any other method and can't hurt.

good luck

I'll be aiming for a girl too.. although I would prefer a boy, my dp wants a girl.

I've been taking calcium and magnesium tablets, my diet is already extremely low in salt.

I doubt I'll do the douche thing, but will: lie flat out on my back... not have an orgasm, and get him to go "PHHTT" very shallow. and not bonk for two days before ovulation.

meanwhile secretly hoping it will be a boy.

We are wanting a boy at the end of the year and I am starting to chart my temps and cervical mucous so we can BD as close to ovulation. However my chart has picked up that I ovulated on day 14 but I never once got the egg white always had the creamy/slippery CM.

To hollibell. Maybe you will both be lucky and have twins........But the magnisium tablets are a good idea. I am going to get me some of them to.

To Olivia and bellas mummy. It makes it realy dificult not being able to chart the cm. I have used the ovulation packs from the supermarket with no better success as well. Now I just gess by having a look at my past menstal history. I know this is dodgy but patence is not one of my virtues and I know if I don't get the girl I whant that the boy I might have had better like looking cute! :)

Good luck to both of you

Hi Everyone!

I read a book I borrowed from the library a couple of years ago about choosing the sex of your bub...and I typed and saved a portion of it about foods you eat when trying to concieve a boy or a girl...I'll paste it for you all to have a squiz...it's really long so bear with me...:ecomcity:

I kinda did the same thing as pegasus...I used the internet rather than buying a book tho. I didn't change my diet or anything like that, I kinda just worked out when I was gonna o..and it was a pretty good guess...and I hid from DH when I thought I was to lessen the chance of another boy.

I'm not sure if it was something I did (DH didn't know what I was doing) or pure luck, but I now have a 6mth old daughter :smiliedance:

Good luck, hope everything goes well for you :)

How much of the minerals do you take?

I take blackmores Bio Magnesium one tablet morning and night,
and Super Calcium Complex (naturesway) 1 tablet morning lunch and night.

I also give Frog the calcium tablets and he has magnesium in stuff he already takes.
