Heylo ladies.

How are you all? Don't know if i am writting in the right place here, but i was just wondering if you knew anothing about this... Will write my story then ask questions at the end :)

In 06 i found out i have a subseptate uterus, it is practically divided in half, and the silly doctor i saw at the time said that it would be very difficult for me to concieve children. Well forward ONE month after him telling me that i fell pregnant :)

My DD was in the left side of my uterus and developed normally apart from some bleeding and alot of pains i lasted 40.5weeks (after the doctor told me i would have a high chance of miscarrying and preterm labour) Thankfully this didn't happen tho.

My little girl is now 19 months old, and we have been trying to have another baby for 6-7months now but it isn't happening (i know i shouldnt worry about it untill 12 months, but thats difficult)

I'm just wondering if the reason i'm not falling pregnant this time is because of the subseptate uterus? has anyone on here have this? Have you had more then one pregnancy? Does the risk of miscarrage/preterm delivery increase or decrease of every birth?

Any information on this would be greatly appreciated. I really would love this month to be a :bfp: ... I am going to go see my doctor about this at some point if I dont fall pregnant sooner ;)

Hi there,

I don't really have any answers for you...just my opinion for what it's worth.

The impact on conception and pregnancy is going to depend upon the extent of the septum. I think you would benefit from going in for an ultrasound to find out how your uterus is now - having already had a baby - because it may well have stretched and changed. It would be interesting to know how it is going before you fall pregnant again...

But, you're one of millions of women who are told they'll probably not fall pregnant. You have already shown that you're as fertile as a freshly sewn field! And you're right - it does take many people quite a long time to fall even when there's no issues. However, because you do have quite an important variation in your uterus, I think you should get to a doctor (maybe not the one you saw last time!) and get referred for an U/S just to be sure it's all good.

Best of luck!

Hi, I know someone who had this and she conceived four times in five years. The only problem pregnancy she had was when she conceived twins and miscarried them in her second trimester. But of course every case is different.

As for falling pregnant again, what are your cycles like? Are they regular? My DS is 18 months old now and my cycles are still all over the place and I'm not yet having fertile cycles. Perhaps that could be a reason why you have not yet fallen pregnant.

I agree that you should go and see a doctor and find out what's going on.

hey thanks for you quick replies!
I agree - back to the doctor is a good step hehe (I haven't gone back to the one that said i couldnt fall pregnant, now will i ever lol) I just hate feeling like i'm wasting the doctors time.

Jimjamsmum - My cycles are regualar have been since they started again after i had my DD... Even with breastfeeding AF came back three months after givin birth an been regular ever since!
