View Full Version : Does your baby/toddler get upset if they have a dirty nappy?
James is more than happy to wear a dirty nappy. He's never cried when I've accidently left a nappy on way too long and it's leaked through or if he's sitting in his own poo. Nope, just continues as if it's not even there - even if it's an 'up-the-backer' or 'out-the-sider'. :o
Is/was it like this for your baby/toddler(s)?

Both my kiddies crack it big time..I have mistaken a dirty nappy for them being hungry cause they get that desperate look in their eyes only to pick them up and find oh no not hungry but stinky pants :o.....

DS is the same. He couldn't care less if it's dirty or not. Even if I get a whiff of it and I tell him it's time to change his nappy he screams No and runs in the opposite direction.
DS gets upset if his bottom gets sore from a teething poo. He's also started going off to a corner to hide when he does his poo which makes me laugh (probably why he's hiding from me). But no, he normally doesn't get upset at all.

Nope my dd is the same, quite happy to sit in her own poo or soaked nappy lol. I still change her regularly though (obviously) but I have to check first cause she doesn't let me know if she needs it. I usually smell it from a mile away lol.

DS couldn't care less, he hates nappy changes with a passion and will sit in a noxious cloud of stink, vehemently denying that 'poo poo' could be the source of said stink .
when he was small, up to about 4-5 months i suppose, he would whinge as soon as he wee'd. now he doesnt even seem to notice!

My son will lie that he's filling his nappy (despite the leaning on the couch and grunting!), but he won't sit down with a dirty nappy on, so he restricts himself play-wise until he 'fesses up! He's just turned two, though, so is a bit older...

It doesnt seem to bother ds either. He is beginning to tell me when he has soiled is nappy now which is a big help.
I don't even think he notices.
Unless of course when he has a bit of nappy rash and it is hurting him.. But that is rare.
My DS didn't care less if he had a stinky nappy, didn't bother him at all
DD on the other hand, lets me know as soon as she's done somthing in her nappy, and she wants it changed ASAP
