Need to berate myself

Good morning ladies!

I just have to publicly whip myself because I am such a tool sometimes. :hissy:

AF is due in 5 days, I am 8DPO and I just could NOT resist doing a HPT. Of COURSE it was a :bfn:.

Why do I do it every single month? I was so confident I could resist but no, they are in the drawer next to the loo and they called to me saying 'what if, what if, just try'. (Oh my god I am going mad, I am hearing voices from HPTs.)

Please everyone tell me off for being a complete idiot and wasting a HPT when there is no way I would get a BFP.

hehe i can't tell u off, because last month i did exactly the same thing...i couldnt walk into my bedroom without hearing the test tell me 'im a good one!!! look at my packet!! it says u can test early and at any time of the day! go onnnnnn go onnnnnnnnnnnnnnn ill give u a positive!!!' *poas* 'hey it was a negative!!!!!' *test evilly laughs at me* 'that was ur last one too!!! now u hafto go buy more MUAHAHA!!!'

5 more days isnt that long hun...ive got to wait till the 15th of this month now thats hell!! hehe

Frocky, I do this too :rolleyes:. I tested about 7 DPO and I expected a BFN, and I got it. I'm not going to bother testing again this month, unless my AF doesnt come on time, which is in another week, although I'm not getting "the feeling" this month so I'm sure it's another BFN month. Yes, they are expensive and I think "what a waste of money" when I know I'm testing way too early.

:wave:frocky good morning well join the club before we were told that we need to have a DONOR that all i did every month and beat my self up when i saw:bfn: it was even worse when i had the 3 bio chem pg the last one i did was back in jan 07 that was my first FET donor cycle we still have 2 snow bub on hoilday and we are getting ready for the transfer soon

Thanks girls, it's good to know I'm not the only that the HPTs talk to and lure into the same trap every month!

I feel like a dog chasing it's tail, I don't learn that there is just no point going through this routine every month!

One day it will be a :bfp:... it just has to happen one day.

Me too. I'm 8dpo and after i thought I'd had a possible IB, all I can do is test!!!!!!
Still nothing so think I'm out, but one has to have hope.

Someone on here got a BFP at 8DPO recently, but lets face it, most people who are pg don't get a BFP until AF is due, or even later. Still we are all in the same boat and do those early HPTs which are such a scam because they know ppl like us are going to do it every month until we are pg. Anyway, early HPTs have only proven to make me feel really low, and lacking in hope for that cycle. On the upside, when AF does arrive, I'm not surpised, and if anything almost relieved to at least know for sure after a number of BFNs. I've already had a tear or two, and I'm ready to have a glass of wine, or a cappucino (which I avoid in the TWW).

Here's my strategy, spend your TWW thinking of what your consolation is going to be if AF comes. Something to wear, box of chocolates, a brand new book, a night out with DH or DP or whatever you might think will perk you up. I tend to feel somewhat entitled to splash out a bit when I get the only definite BFN which is of course AF.
