How many of us actually have some serious scare at some point?
I had no issues whatsoever when pg with my DD but this time, at 11+3 I had a night of bleeding, a day in casualty and eventually learned that 15% of my placenta has come away - a 'placental abruption'.
There's no history of miscarriage in my family, no near misses for me last time, no reason to expect any problems so I had one hell of a day last Wednesday with all sorts of things going through my head as I waited for hours in casualty.
It seems I've probably causes the placental abruption myself, or so they implied, yet I don't get more energetic than climbing up and down the steps into my house (1m off the ground!)!!! Now I'm on my best behaviour - told to behave like I've had a Caesarean and "do nothing for a couple of weeks". When you don't do much to start with.... Well, it's still amazing how many times in the last week I've paid the price for doing something that I thought would be ok! I get pains and more bleeding every time I do something as energetic as walk 1/2 km!
Has anybody else had some real issues this early in pg?
I'm told that 30% abruption is when they start to get concerned about the baby so I do have to be a good girl. Man, it's hard though... when walking sets it off :(
