Hi Brook
My name is Alisha and my little Angel, Tiana is 4 and 1/2 months old.
I Am 21 years old and live in Tennyson S.A.
I have lived in Adelaide for 3 years - My partner has lived here all his life. I am origianally from Sydney. I have no family here so i found it quite hard when i was pregnant to get my head around being without my family at such an exciting time.
I have a few friends that also have babies around the same age as Tiana which helps.
I hope all is well with your pregnancy and that your labour goes well..(at least better than mine!)
keep us up to date
Alisha
Just wondering if any of you living down south know of any good "Mums and Bubs" groups ... apart from Playgroup??? My little man (17 months) is just starting to interact and show interest with other kids. I took him to Playgroup a few times, but all I seemed to be doing was chasing around after him and hardly got to chat to other mums ... most of the Mums just did things with their child ... and frankly I can do this at home. any ideas???????
I don't have any friends near-by and as we have travelled quite a bit and only been in Adelaide for just over 3 years, apart from friends my hubby had from when he lived here previously, we don't know an awful lot of people.
Hope to chat soon.
Regards.
Donna.

Hi Donna,
Playgroup is like that. You just wander around after your little one. The older they get, the better they are at entertaining themselves. In the meantime, you have to just snatch conversations with other mums while you can. After all, the other mums are doing the same thing. I also find that playgroup is good because you meet the kids/mums who will probably be at kindy & school with your little one if you stay in the same area.
If you want something different, have you tried Kindergym? This costs about $50 per term and I'm sure there will be one in your area.
I think you'll find that at your little ones age there won't be much that you can do without having to run around after him. But it gets better as their concentration span increases and they stay put for more than a few minutes.

Hi Donna,
You may like to try the toddler group at the Hackem East Pathways Centre, it is on the corner of Doctors Rd and Collins Pde.
I am pretty sure that the toddler group is on a thursday morning, and if i remember correctly it is free. I used to attended their babies group there.

Hi Kylie
I'm down south at MOANA not that far away. I'm a mom to 2 step daughters (part time) and a mom to 2 boys Lachlan and Cooper. I'm 23 and I've been thinking that its really hard to try and look for a group as I only moved here from Meadows as of February.
Maybe all us moms from down South can get together at a kids centre for a coffee??? ;)
Theres a place at Christies Beach called fun for kids or something like that and it's under $5.00 to take the kids and have a coffe what do you think. Let me know whos interested and maybe we can organise this. :)
Danielle
Hi Danielle
I would be interested in meeting up if you get others to join in as well. I have an 18 month old son, Ethan, and I live at Kangarilla (just up the road from Meadows) !!!!!! We moved here in November from Morphett Vale, and I do not know many people either. I know where you are talking about at Christies Beach ... Play "n" Fun !!!!!!!! Let me know.
Cheers.
Donna.

I havent heard back from any of you, is it a no go? Just wanting all of us that can to get together and have a coffee and a chat whilst the kiddies go off and toddle. It seems daunting and well I know as I'm trying to organise (what feels like it's inevitably going to not work without other moms around) something for all of us to do, to get out enjoy normal conversation and relax. Doesnt that sound fun.... :o
Well okay this is my last go at trying this.
